Default Explain "Mid-Ship"

I understand Mid defined as the engine being behind the front wheels, at least i think. Can someone give a definition of mid-ship?

Thanks

engine is in the middle behind the seats.......provides good grip for the rear wheels.......more understeer in the front than most Rear-wheel drive cars.......

cars that go in catergory:
MR2
NSX
Lambos
some ferraris

Im not sure but nissan recently made a big deal about the Z being a new front mid ship...

rear mid ship is midengine. Same thing but the engine is NOT in the front and NOT in the back but somewhere in the middle.

Mid-ship means the engine is between the axles. It can be Front mid-ship (Z) or Rear Mid-ship (MR2, Boxter)...
