Default 2006 350Z Enthusiast

sorry about the double post. I just seen this area.

I am new around here, but have been lurking for a while and just registered last night. I had a 93 300ZX. Bought it as a demo, but I decided to sell it to go to college. That was a terrible day, but I always said I was going to get another Z. The 93 was the only car I had that I never thought about trading it in, but a scholarship opportunity arose that I just couldn't pass up, so I had to get rid of it.

Well, my days of not having a Z are going to end shortly. I am picking up my 2006 350Z Enthusiast 6 speed on Saturday. I went with Silverstone and the dealership had to locate it for me. I seen some threads about pricing, and I think I did pretty well. I am buying the Z at invoice and the dealership is giving me 1K more for my trade then any other dealership I have been too (which is quite a bit more then KBB). The only thing I didn't really like on the car was the stereo. It's pretty bad IMO, but that can be changed pretty easily.

Anyway, just wanted to throw out a quick post as I am eagerly awaiting this Saturday!

My car has arrived at the dealership and I will be getting it Saturday morning.

Got a quick question for you though since your from Illinois.

What the heck did you do about the front license plate requirement? Salesperson is asking me if I want it on there and would rather not if there is a way around it.

I haven't put mine on, nor do I have one on my daily driver.
Technically you're supposed to have it on, but you can always get it installed later if it proves to be a problem.
So I say don't put it on, it censors the car's beautiful curves!

I advise that you do not drill holes in the bumper. Get the Z-bracket or sometime similar. Temporarily you can attach the plate to the grill with a couple of clip ties.

Do you have any pics slightly back from that? Also, where did you get that thing? I like that idea.

No need for a front plate in GA, but if I did have to have one I wouldn't
put it on....I would put the plate and some cable ties under the carpet
or in the glove box, so I could "just be going to put it on" if stopped.

Well, today was the day. I picked up my 2006 Silverstone Enthusiast 6 spd this morning. It's Silverstone, and I just love this car. Took the long way home (30 miles normally, 120 today) and just really like everything about this car. I will be posting pics in the 2006 new owners thread here shortly.

A little bummed though. They had to do a dealer trade to get the car. The salesperson asked me about the front plate while they were getting it. Well, the other dealer had already put it on, so I am using that.

Congrats again.
They had done a dealer trade on mine also, but they still didn't put the plates on.
Oh well, now you'll just be a law abiding citizen.
Enjoy her!

Thanks. You too. It's been a long wait waiting to be a Z owner again. Still can't believe it.

Enjoys yours too!

You can easily fix the stereo with a 10" sub-woofer and amp.

I checked with the dealer and everything is built into the deck, so you won't
have a problem with the amp add-on.

The stereo guys might try to tell you that they can't do the amp, but you can
on the 2006.
