Default 500 whp wrx to a Z..

Well heres my story :

500whp wrx parted out and sold
94 TT Z bought w/60k...mint condition...still in the shop Couldnt wait

Now I just picked up my BASE 06 Silver Alloy

Initial impressions vs my wrx (have not opened the z up yet)

Power
Well the wrx was a monster...but in stock form the Z is quicker...V6 "spools" nicely at low rpms vs my 2.5L sti engine...Gotta love the low end tq...Much easier to drive and smoother. My only gripe is that my sti 6 speed shifted much smoother, the Z gearbox is not to die for...feels too choppy in some gears..almost like its grinding . Hope to have 500whp in this thing soon...1 yr is the goal w/some F.I

Interior
To be honest the interior is pretty much the same to me as far as quality. The speedo/rpm cluster is much nicer though. Seats are both pretty good and the clutches to me are no different. It is nice to only have 2 seats !!!!!but miss the glove box.

Exterior
Well, even know I had carbon hoods and trunks...coilovers and bbs forged rims..The Z shines here...just the sexiness of the *** and the seamless lines of the car...Not even in the same league. Plus the 06 xenons are phenominal. Love the rear exhaust too...and the sound..well I dont have to tell you about that...the only diff is that I had an external wastegate and nothing beats that sound as it blows off into the atmosphere.

Overall

I feel like the Z is a step up in a mature way. Much more refined then my wrx/sti. I will always miss the wrx..especially for its power and ease of mods to get that power...the Z will be tougher but in the end..It will be hotter and just as fast !

I am having trouble uploading pics...if anybody can help shoot me a pm..pics are too big...pics to come soon though!!!

Z nation here I come..oh and please check out longislandsubaruclub.com..if you like wrx/sti's my friends and i started it and its growing..looking to get a longislandz addition to it

Nice comparo. I like to read about the transitions people make and what they have noticed.

Oh, get a popcharger. I'll bring back a little of the blow-off sound

sweet! i used to have a stage 2 WRX. i love working on scoobies! did you upgrade the STi tranny to handle that kind of power? what type of turbo did you use and IC setup?

i have an old clip of Jeff Perrin hitting 28psi in his STi on the dyno!! that was really awesome.

Default Uploading pix

You can get a free account at photobucket. See link. Then you can upload as many pix to that site as you want then when they are there, in your personal account, you can edit them to smaller, more sendable sizes.

I used a utec w/pe 800cc injectors...w/a walbro supra fuel pump...

I actually have a dyno for 465whp and 484whtq...we made 496 whp...but that was with us pushing it but we backed off and got the numbers above.

WE did that on 24 psi w/100 octane...

I made 398whp on 93 octane pump...

I was 13secwrx on naisoc and clubwrx.net...look me up ..

pics are at longislandsubaruclub.com...under members list..number 00..my friends and I started it.

Cheers.

Go TT with the Z33 on a stock block and you will forget about the Z32 and WRX.

Thats what I am hoping for..my friend made 667whp in a z33..I wont get that high but 500's is what I am looking for.

But my friend who made 400whp and he beat a z33 from our way w/tt making around the same...diff drivers and a little heavier but it was by about 1-2 cars...we thought we were gonna lose..but we went from a 1st gear roll..no traction for the z...

I am looking forward to it !!!

how much did that forged STi block run you? my friend was going to get a complete forged STi long block with everything ready to plug and play and installation close to $10k. im not sure if that was a good price or not. he is in iraq right now. im sure he will be back next summer with triple that.

i love turboXS products. that utec was awesome! it let me run a MBC on my 05 WRX without detonation worries. they have a utec for the 350z if you are interested. check it out on their page. it is brand new and just came out within the past few months. i believe it works both with FI and NA

Thanks for the info on utec..I actually came to hate my utec..too many issues and it couldnt adjust to weather/tempature change like the stock ecu...

I did come to make friends..but when attacked..one must defend.

Sti block is approx 1800-2200 and to get it w/better rods/pistons..etc..it usually runs 4k-8k depending on what you do and if you bore it ..etc...

Cant wait to start w/my first mods...ecu, intake, exhaust...seem to be the go..plenum looks good but not sure if that will work with f.i ?...
