Default Buying a rebuilt 350z

I found a great deal on a 03 Rebuilt 350z with only 17k miles on it.

The asking price is $14,900, I just wanted to know how reliable rebuilt cars really are, and will I be potentially facing problems in the future?

rebuilt meaning it has a salvage title, but everything was repaired?

The reliability is all dependent on the quality of repair work/parts that went into the repairs. The price sounds good, but realize with a salvage title, you will have problems selling in the future, and will never be able to get much for it.

With that sort of price , I am not really too concered with selling the vehicle in the future..I just don't want to get myself into any problems with the car...

But yes , the car has a salvage title and everything was repaired.

And the seller is willing to give you a 12 month/12,000 miles warranty in writing right?

you could probably buy an '03 for around $16k. I'd pass and look for a clean title and pay a couple grand more. Salvage titled cars always have problems.

Dont touch that thing, you are better off with another Z. With the '07 out, you should be able to find a good deal

good luck

Welcome and I tend to agree with the others. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I wouldn't even consider a salvaged/rebuilt car. You're running too high a risk of potential problems.

I went with what you guys said. The risk factor is what I was affraid of. I don't want to have to worry about what's going to go wrong with the car next. I have an appointment tomorow to go look at a 03 350z Track model.

Best of luck. Good decision to stay away from salvaged. Like others said, too much potential for probs.

Smart move, and don't forget to test drive a few 350's before you make your decision.

Eh...'03 for 16k....where do you see that because that's a hell of a steal. Nice, well maintenanced '03 350z is around 18-19k for private parties and 22-24k for dealers.

I agree. I just purchased an '03 touring model with 49k miles for $20k from a dealership. I did get a 3 year, 50k mile 100% warranty with it though.

Well guys , the deal with the track model didn't work out due to various reasons...One being that the dealer was a complete ******* and I'd rather pass out on a good deal then have somebody like that get paid.

Either way , I'm still on the look out for the right Z! Not giving up anytime soon either
