Default New to the stable - 03 Z Touring

My wife and I sold our E46 330i 5spd (her daily driver) and she wanted to replace it with something more sporty - because I was always working on her bimmer (you name it, it broke) my stipulations were Japanese, rear wheel drive and a stick. She choose the 350z after driving a G35 coupe, IS300, and varoius other cars that didn't quite fit what we wanted. Cool wife, huh? We got the silver on light grey touring Z on Monday. 37K miles, 6 spd, navi, G35 coupe wheels + the stock 18s, 06 intake, and an extra AEM CAI (for sale currently) for a pretty killer price too. Both window motors were just replaced, as well as the clutch and tranny and the tires don't have any signs of feathering. Besides some rattles, all the car needs is a pop charger, and 5/16" plenum spacer and maybe some exhaust. Going in for 20% tint all the way around on Friday.

Here she is:

Congrats on the new ride and the cool wife. My soon to be wife loves my car and doesn't mind that I love it as much as I love her(jk), but she will let me do what ever I want to it, cause this will prob. be the last time in my youthful life that I can enjoy it like I do. Until I have a son and we can do this together. She also loves to just hop in it with me and go for a ride in the mountains and just those little one day getaways that everybody needs.

Welcome and congratZ on the 03 Mrquick. You are very lucky to have such an understanding wife. Now don't forget to let her drive the Z too.

Now what happens if you have a little daughter. Girls can be petrolheads too.

We jsut did the same exact thing.
Sold the wifes 03 325XI for our Z. She said we have 3 family cars right now. Why not sell one and get a sports car. I said "Say no more". I was in withdrawal from selling my Supra in Jan anyway. So I needed a new toy.

Then I hope I can get her to turn some wrenches too.

Welcome. You might check out the Regional NW forum area. Lots of friendly people and I think there will be some good drives this summer.

I was talking to the wife about that last night. Could be a fun Saturday morning activity! I will keep my eye on the NW forum and look for upcoming drives.

Lord willing I will have daughter someday sooner than later, hopefully a son or two as well. At this time, we don't have kids - thus the decision for picking up a Z. Though my wife and were talking and we both really like this car so far, which is odd as we don't usually both like a car this much. Anyway - we thought once the kiddies come into our lives that we may just keep the Z and get a family sedan/wagon too. I already have a lifted diesel 4 door for hauling toys and more people - but its not partical for downtown use, though i had to drive it to work today as the Z is getting tint - 20% "char-cool" all the way around.

Sorry for the ramble - still excited about the new car!

Welcome and congrats. I'm sure you and your wife will truly love the car. I know my wife and I do.
