Questions Before buying
Hi, im new to this community and im interested in leaving the bimmer world ( sadly ) . honostly im not a fan of non-euro cars but im willing to try something new. and the z is that something new. but i want to kno where i can find information on modifications for the engine. and is there anything i need to look out for before or while owning the z ? i kno there is a search button but i figured my questions are a bit to large to search. tia
To really answer your question we need more info. The Z engine is already pretty high spec with forged rods and pistons I think.
What are your goals for the car? What kind of power are you looking for? Or are you more interested in bolt on type stuff.
www.stillen.com has a plethora of info and parts to look at, and they are pretty well respected in the Nissan world.

thanks for the replies, basically i want to make it a track/auto-x/dd. so performance mods. i want high hp eventually going to a f/i kit but i dont kno anything about the z. like parts wise i have no clue where to find information or the parts themselves
i forgot to add, wat are good companies for parts such as exhausts, f/i kits, engine mods, and how are the brembos on the track package? ive been reading for the past day or so but i think i have to wait until i get the car to start researching mods. but like i did with my bimmer i researched before hand. how do the z's drive? are they good reliable cars with good handling ?
Just like you can preview your messages before you post for spelling and punctuation, you can preview the Z at your dealer and by all means take a test drive. You should be happily surprised based on your interest in autox and track. Welcome to the forum!
There are after-market modifications available for almost every part of the Z, from the engine to the shift ****. Spend more time researching in this forum on what you want to do with your Z and you'll get your answers. I track & auto-x my Z and I could not be happier with its performance. This past weekend alone in auto-x, I posted faster times than a Z06 and a Lotus Exige.

Welcome. For reliability and potential trouble spots check Consumer Reports. Possible engine modifications? Sure. How about getting a 350Z first, then we can work together on the motor.
