What year is Z to be?? And yes an alarm is always worth it, the idea is to deter, so hopefully they move on to another car that doesn't have alarm. This being said, if they want it that much, nothing will stop them.

Welcome to the forum.

but they charge an arm and a leg for the dealer alarm that don't do crap compare to aftermarket alarms. I've bought one for my G35 and that alarm was such a POS that I wished I had shopped for a better aftermarket alarm.

All Z models have a standard security system as well as immobilizer, don't let them trick you into buying it..

Welcome. I've seen them try to add $1800 for an alarm on my friends purchase. I told them if they were that risky to be stolen (I don't think they are at all) he shouldn't buy it. They dropped the issue.

Extended warranties are usually not worth it. Stick the money in CD's and by the time your regular warranty runs out, you'll have a lot of change in your pocket if something then happens. When the equivalent period for the extended warranty runs out, take the money and spend a month in the Bahamas.

the only option i got from my dealer was the lowjack for $500. I got it only because it lowers my insurance and peace of mind :-)

i am a firm believer in service contracts specially the ones from the factory.if the dealership offered you a security plus service contract that is the one to buy because it is owned by nissan. service contracts are like car insurance or home insurance-you never know when you will need them. besides nissan as a manufacturer does not offer a free rental car nor do they offer roadside assistance. it will kinda suck if you are still making that car payment every month and yet have to pay parts and labor for a repair that is post factory warranty period not to mention gas, car insurance et.al.
