new key

i bought my car used from the dealership and it only came with 1 key. they want $160 for a new programmed key. can i get a better deal than this?

maybe at another dealership... but in all likely hood not your best bet is to pitch a fit about not getting multiple keys when you purchased it mine came with two keys w/ keypads and one valet key with no keypad

sucks though thats the one bad thing about the keys

as far as i know without some kind of differant ignition you are not going to be able to get a new key from anyone other than your dealer or another nissan/infiniti dealer

ask west covington nissan if you can work something out with them, they have a great rep, they're on the boards here

In my car buying experience, I find that you can bargain for almost anything at a dealership. Take that quote to another dealership and see if they can beat it.

I asked a stealership by my house and they quoted me the same thing $160

I bought my Z used in Northern California, and the dealer gave my two keys.

i didn't realize there was only 1 key till a day after. anyways, i found a locksmith that was able to dulpicate the transponder key. it cost $94 which is about half of what the dealership would have cost me.
