Default new to the 350

hey i just got my 05 350z enthusiast, and i absolutely love it. i went from an 03 sentra se-r to an 07 g6 gt which was a big disappointment...so i sold it and got my z...and i havent looked back since. i'm 17 years old...and i love the car and think i am going to stick with the z's for a long time. i have lots of questions about what would be best to do for my car...and im going to search but if anyone would like to help me out just let me know... thanks

You must have one hell of a job for a 17yo to afford a Z, AND be preparing to move out of the house on your own, AND all the other priotities you should have at this point in your life to be able to support yourself!! I'm jealous and impressed!!

Your insurance must be more then your car payment!!!

LMAO, i was just about to say how all the baby drivers come outta the shadows whenever another young driver makes the fatal mistake of mentioning their age and how they are paying for their car, etc.!!

This is gonna be awesome!!!!

It's not that he's 17, the problems we have are spoiled little ***** that had the car given to them, if your 16, or 17, or even 18 and bought the car with YOUR OWN money, more power to ya

well, my dad is a car dealer so i had a little edge. i purchased my first car with my own money, sold it for a profit and took money i had and bought my g6, than my graduation present was the 350...not too big of a price difference, around a thousand. so i have no car payment, and i use the dealer insurance..so i dont necessarily have to pay a lot for insurance, none is closer considering i'm an employee. im loading pics now and ill share with you guys

An additional problem is that most of them will say that they did.

I'm new to the site, and will go out on a limb about the young person getting the car handed to em. Deep breath. I'm 45 years old and do ok. My wife and I bought both our kids cars at age 17. Most people in our life, and probably on this site by the looks of it, don't necessarily agree on principle (philisophically). From MY era, it's generally thought that a kid ought to save up and do it on their own, for all the reasons that every older person on this site knows, so I won't state it outright. Now, I'm not talking so much about the obvious 'wrap the car around the tree thing', but more about the earning the car themselves. Sooooooooo, here's are angle. My kids have made it to 17 and 19 years, with success in school, and sports, and life. We have spent 19 years driving them everywhere to sports etc. They are going to go to university in our town for yet another 4or 5 years, and guess what, I don't want to keep (f'n) driving them everywhere. So, by buying the kids cars, it's not so much to give THEM freedom, but to give US freedom. If I can afford it, so what. Most people aren't in the position to do this, and I will get the big frown from others, partly out of JEALOUSY, and partly out of the issues of 'saving up for ones own car for life learning purposes' and for not dying while driving.
I agree that too much power can be an issue, but one can die with any amount of power (maybe easier with power).
Anyway, I'm happy for all the spoiled kids, not jealous, as I certainly was not spoiled as a child (poor), and I like spoiling my kids, but with the bonus of not being a continuous chauffeur

I agree. I am 24 years old and earned pretty much everything. Came from a 3rd world country when I was 10. Moved out when I was 16 and have been living on my own ever since. Paid for my own cars, paid for my college education, and been paying all of my bills.

As long as they appreciate what they are given to them and are not expecting everything to be handed to them for free, more power to them. That's a dream that all parents usually have. To give their kids something that they did not have when they were young. Why else would people work so hard to succeed and try to have a better life? To spoil their loved ones including themselves.

If you're an ***, no amount of money will make you a better person. You're just a rich ***. lol
