New Touring 6speed
Just bought a 2003 350Z almost a month ago Just thought I would pop up and say Hi. I previously owned a 98 eclipse GS which was a project car that I turbo'd but eventually sold. Im still on the eclipse forum since I plan on buying another one someday. As of now my attention is on my new baby once I get most of it paid off I plan on putting a turbo on her, but for now Im going to be looking into doing some small things to add to the looks of the car. I picked it up for $12,900 with 80k miles on it which I didn't think was too bad but Ill be around here quite a bit and im sure ill meet some pretty cool people on here.

Thanks. Well I took my car to the dealer last week to have to fuel line recall performed on my car, now a week later I have a transmission leak right where the driveshaft goes into the transmission so I gotta take it back to them and make them fix it.
While they are fixing the tranny leak, ask them which version tranny you have. Assuming it's a manual, hopefully you have a cd009. I'm sure you are aware of the manual tranny issues the 03s have. But if you have 80,000 miles on it, it would have already showed up by now and/or been replaced.( I'm on my 4th tranny on my 03!)
Great price BTW.

That's unfortunate. Good luck dude.

Like kacz07 said. That's EXACTLY what happens when the tranny starts going. It usually starts with 6th gear, and then so on. You're ok to drive with it like that, it's just going to be annoying. You need a CD009 tranny. (The latest Nissan Rev)
My origional tranny was so bad, it sounded like a jet engine going down the road! It was actually pretty cool! lol
Lol thanks for the info Ill most likely drive it this way untill It gets worse its not to bad right now. How much does a new trans cost? I don't have a warrenty with this car so I would be paying out of pocket hence why I want to wait till it gets worse lol.
Also, that little but of haze on yrou headlight is REALLY easy to take off. It's from the heat seeping up past teh hood "baking" on ther elements. Hit it with some Mequires scratch-X, then some Mequires Plastic-X and they will look brand spankin new!!! I'm FI so i get this ALOT since under hood temps are greater. Just try not to use actual wax on them. That will turn yellow over time. Esp carnuba!!
They don't look that bad. It will take ya maybe 10mins per headlight and you should be good for a while!
Not trying to nit pick your car, it's in FANTASTIC shape, and i don't think you could have gotten a nicer specimin. But the headlights are such a big part of the look, i think it's a shame when they don't look their brightest!!

I found through personal experience on different cars I've detailed, that the Plastix doesn't last longer than 2 weeks.
I use the Turbo Wax Headlight Restoration Kit. Brilliant stuff, leaves the headlights optically clear, and yes you can do by hand, or of course with a buffer too, main thing make sure you mask around the area. Doing by hand only takes about 35 minutes, and lasts around 8-12 months depending on the situation. As with all surfaces on the car, be gentle. This is brilliant stuff!!!
