The story to my Z
I am a new owner of black 350z roadster convertible in southern cali!
The story behind the journey to this car is pretty insane haha
I had a Nissan Titan since August of 2006.
On March 2, 2009 I was driving in the CSUF parking lot, it had just rained and I was kind of annoyed. I HATE the rain more than anything in the world
2 of my friends were coming with me, we were going to print some scripts for our newscast that I was a part of.
I am driving down a lane towards the exit. Then see a huge traffic jam leading to that exit (annoyed mood). So I bust around make a right and a quick left to go onto the one lane street that has no wait out towards the same exit. By the time I straighten my wheel I am hydroplaning. I swerved to the left, then for some magic reason tried to correct and flew to the right and into a chain link fence. The air bags didnt even go off and no one was hurt. The campus police show up and do a report.
The tow truck finally arrives and has to axe my truck out from under the fence. This rips my whole right side fender and officially puts my car to TOTALLED status.
I would put pix up but it makes me sad that I did crash, if you wanna see pix of the chain link fence that slayed the Titan PM me. Yes a CHAIN LINK FENCE, I still cant believe it. The Popo said I was really lucky not to hit another car and or person. I feel the same damn someone woulda died if they got trapped into that fence.
But anyways moving on...
I had to start looking for cars I could not decide what I wanted. Started looking for a lot of cars. So I decided to go look for used cars at the Buena Park auto mall. I end up liking black used clk 320. Finally get thru it all and get to finance to buy the vehicle. Get there and they explain the warranty 1year and 100,000 miles CPO. I'm like man eff that the sales person explained it as 1 year and 100,000 miles. Get into an arguement and peace out!
So next day I go to Tustin and look at G35, I really like a few but they are out of my price range. Thought I could get one with the insurance money that I got for my truck. The sales person did a good job of convincing me to get one but I didnt wanna over spend. So he tries to get a ugly *** g35 with no leather delivered to me. My only requirement on a vehicle was no red exterior or no tan interior. The G35 he is trying to show me has a dual color interior and is weird. Tan on the ground and Stone on the seats. I dont like it so I move on. Walk around and go to the Nissan dealer and test drive a 350Z. I really enjoy the vehicle, actually more so than G35. Just felt like the extra room in the G35 took away from the car. The 350Z is nice and nimble. Talk to the salesperson who ironically turns out to be the guy that sold me my truck. He tries to say he has a good deal but it asking more than the G35 so I left. Feeling disappointed I'm like hmm lets try this final stop in anaheim. Its a new area with a bunch of cars. Hmmm maybe I'll get a charger.
So I'm driving in traffic since some idiot decided to die on the free way. I'm getting really bugged out and considering just taking a way home. I stay in the traffic and finally arrive to the anaheim dealership. I go to the mitsubishi dealership because I see some used Z's there. This Indian salesperson runs out and since I am Indian I hate fob *** Indians. So I leave I cant put up with his personality. Walk over to the Hyundai and see a black 350Z with the top down. I walk over and the guy tells me a good price. I'm thinking in my head ok finally something I can afford. So basically I go in and test drive and its really fun. And I feel like aaaaaah its the car that is meant for me.
We start negotiating and I drop a price that I dont want to move from. He says he cant do it after an hour of negotiating. I leave and he comes running to my car and says ok we can do it, with power train warranty. I say ok that works. Get to the finance guy and he tries to upsell me to the "high teck warranty" which covers everything including the motor for the convertible. I ask him what my warranty covers then and he says well in the days of great cars now basically nothing just powertrain and tranny. I'm like ok I dont plan on ****ing it up in 3 years or 36k miles. He's like exactly so get the High teck its only $1500 more. I'm like well the salesperson offered bumper to bumper for $200 more. Can I see what that covers in compared to the high teck. So I check it out and say damn thats gay but whatever I'll take it and the sales person says no I never said the amount. I'm like your stupid man you said power train is $1000 and the bumper to bumper cost $1250. So you did tell me the amount by using subtraction. He gets heated and I walk out. I'm like **** it if you dont give me high teck warranty I dont want the car.
So I go home kind of sad but thinking hey I want all my **** covered. This is my first used car, I've had 2 new ones, one I crashed and one handed down to my bro which he crashed lol!!
Next day they call me and say hey what if we offer you the high teck for $200 and I'm like let me sign a contract that says I get all this stuff. I go in and sign it and now my car is covered for 3 years and/or 36,000.
So basically I want to do body mods on my 350Z considering I fought so hard for the warranty I dont want to do anything that will void it.
Looking to start with smoked out lights, LED back lights and markers, tint, change the bulbs on the blinkers to blue (dont know if this is legal or possible but I want to do it, let me know) and want to change the inside lights to blue. also MAYBE a spoiler.
After that I think I will be content until my warranty expires then I will go with the intake and exaust and big body kit.
I will be putting up pix soon, did not get a chance yet because I had to go to Vegas for my bday trip right after I got the car, so when I got back it was dusty and today it just rained so I'll be getting a car wash soon and putting up pix
Thanks for reading the essay, yes I was that bored and wrote the whole thing since I'm at work
