I have been lurking since I got my Z about 2 months ago so I decided to introduce myself and hopefully be able to contribute as much as I take from the site.

far as I can tell it is, it has everything a touring has except the wheels. I have done some exhaustive research and seems like there's not really a definitive 100% catch-all guide to trim levels. Maybe y'all can help (yeah I said y'all on purpose):
Has:
Bose/ no nav.
leather/heated
5 speed auto
TCS
Doesn't have:
18" wheels
VDC
Is there any way to tell the trim level from the VIN (like on my Maxima, but then again, they didn't make 37 different combinations like with the Z)?
thanks for the welcome(s).

The Touring automatics came with 17" wheels during 2003, 2004 and 2005. And only the Touring manual transmission cars came with VDC.
