well my dad is a used car dealer, but pretty much retired right now. he still buys and sells cars, but not as often. salvage auctions are good to make some high profit. I am currently looking for a Z, either salvage or good title.

I have an 05 RSX that was salvage. Had a front end hit with some frame damage but it was fixed. total cost of the RSX was about 6k. I'm just waiting to find a 6MT Z and sell the RSX for around 8.5-9. best offer has been 8.5 since market is low.

you do very well with your body work sir.

thats cool, just be patient and wait for the right Z to come along. i probably would have waited for a different Z if i had to do it all over again...

Its finally LEGAL!!!!

so, ive been driving it for about 5 days now, and the SES light came on after a few miles for code P0420 (catalyst efficiency below threshold, pass. side). Reset it, and it came back a few miles later. Ran the OBD2 again and found 2 codes! P0430 (catalyst efficiency below threshold, drivers side), and P0420 again. After the first code, I researched on the forum the common causes people have with this error code. Found that people running test pipes throw these codes because of lack of cats. So after the 2nd light came on, I crawled underneath the car and examined the "cats," and found what looked to be either test pipes or high flow cats...not sure which one yet. I took pictures, but am at work and cant post them yet. There is a tiny chance they are the stock cats, but they dont look like the replacement OEM parts found on the internet. So ill post pics pretty soon and maybe someone on here and help me out! Thanks

This thread is a WIN! Really nice job on the Z. I would have tried to get some fair lady flair if it were mine though...

I completely missed this thread until tonight. I must say, that is a great looking Z you got there for only 12k, and it looks like it just came off the showroom floor
