I thought about PMing you as we rode through. I remember you saying you were nearby.

I should have planned this better, Militia and his lady are in Greenville.

You could always come up to Highlands and we could meet for some lunch and I could pwn you on some mtn roads.

You want to meet up Thurs when I drive back through that city of fail?

Not in the summer. I head on to bed around 4 in the morning and wake up at noon. I like the nighttime.

How did I miss this thread. I blame all of you for not informing me of it's creation.

side note:

I also like Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gary Jules, The Vines, Silversun Pickups, Cobra Starship, Chiodos, System of a Down, The Killers, Blur, Our Lady Peace, The Fray, etc. I have an eclectic taste in music.
I don't see how this qualifies as "eclectic".

I guess it's not eclectic. It's all either alternative music or rock. But I also listen to pop, classical, country, 70s and 80s music, etc. I'm basically okay with anything.

Except Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, and the Jonas Brothers. They're little preteen-attracting cults from hell.

Hey Hsummer, do you paint calipers? I need someone who knows what they're doing, with the open calipers and all, but I need someone closeby. Just wondering.

BTW. I need help guys. I wanna wax the car. Any recommendations on which wax to use on a black car? I heard Meguiar's was really good, but didn't know if there was a certain type for black cars, or what your recommendations are. Thanks much,

Toby

Depending on the condition of the paint you may want to claybar it first and hit it with a polish. There is a ton of info under Maintenance and Repair in the Cleaning and Detailing sub-forum, ranging from both anything you can buy online from the various dealers to stuff you can pick up in your local auto store. I like Meguiar's Gold Class Wax myself as a topcoat and use it on my black car.

I would use a carnuba wax if you are going to wax it. most any brand as long as it is made from carnuba. I find it doesn't leave swirls on my black Z.

As noted, check the forums. There is a lot of good detailing info on here and black has some special problems.

Okay, thanks. I had looked at Meguiar's Gold before. Just wondering if anyone else has used it. As for the paint, it looks like there's some significant knicks due to hail (my best guess) it's not that noticeable in the sun, but in the garage with those fluorescent lights it reallly looks bad. Would a claybar help hide that? The paint hasn't chipped, but you can tell something hit it.

Okay, thanks for the info. Carnuba wax...do you know if Meguiar's made from that? I'll check it out.

I got the Meguiar's Gold Class, and it has Carnauba wax in it. Gonna get her washed Friday night and wax Saturday morning. I'm gonna have to find some place in the shade though...

Anyway, FIRST MOD! Well, actually not a mod, really. At all. But I'm going to replace the standard long antenna with a little short stubby one. Any ideas on some good ones? I'll have to admit, the first place I would look is on eBay... someone give me a suggestion please? Thanks

Actually, he was giving you recommendations on the antennas that most Z users replace the stock long one with.

Another good one is from the Honda Element, which is the one I used.

Welcome!

Oh, haha thanks! I'm a little slow on that. I thought you could only use 350z replacement antennas for it. Thanks for the help! And sorry for the mix-up Spork.
