Talking The "New" Daytona Blue Z

Just purchased this Z and have only had it for two days. All I can say is wow! ,
I got a number on the wind shield the FIRST day I parked in my college campus!
After driving it, I made a list of mods that I will get taken care of in the next couple of weeks.

Audio

Kenwood DDX514 Headunit, the best for the price in my opinion - $400 refurb
Backup Camera that fits on the license plate so I wont have to drill holes - $15
Ipod Video cable for headunit, this is going to be great since I stream Slacker/Pandora
also im going to try to set it up so I view Slingplayer through my headunit while being connected to my Iphone,
So I can watch cable tv anywhere! Also using the Navigon/Tomtom apps on my Iphone it adds Navi to the headunit -$20

Exterior Lighting
LED Reverse lights, The stock ones are way too dim. -$10
LED Parking lights, the stock ones are yellowish and make the HID's look bad - $5
LED Turning Signals, I was thinking about switching the Rear ones to red.
They would look good at night but im not sure if in sunlight they would be easy to see. - $10

Thats about it for now... I was thinking about adding a JWT Popcharger and maybe a Lip.
Ill get proper pics with everything set up soon...
If there any forum members who go to UCSB and have a Z, msg me.
That would be cool if we could get a group started.
Oh and id like to thank the GI Bill for hooking me up

My Cars have been, 1994 Mark II Tourer V 1JZ (still my fav) -> 1999 Eddie Bauer Expedition -> 2001 VW Golf -> 2003 DB 350Z

Quality bisches ALWAYS leave their number on cars whom owners they have never even seen.

Wrap that $hit!

Yea im getting something like that, Its cheap and apparently easy to put in... The other ones are really expensive. The only thing im worried about is the quality and durability, but i'll let you know how it goes.

Nice! I would never park it in IV, It would probably get either Smashed/Broken into/Keyed I leave it in the school parking and walk over.

After I got the note, I called my friend who has a Silver Z on chrome rims here, and he was like dude that is typical. Apparently his note said something like "This is a cool car.. I wonder if the guy who drives it is as cool... Call me"

That sucks man, It would of been nice! Its just something about the Color that makes it stand out.

Your Sig is funny.. Ive been teasing my friends here with the JDM Tyte saying and some fast and furious quotes

Im also telling them im going to get the BIGGEST Wing I can find, then im putting flame decals because
it makes it go faster, the loudest exhaust with flames, and full glow kit. Oh and for some guys who don't know about cars,
I told them I was going to put in a Vtech to save gas, and they're like: Nice Man!..

Or they were just pretending to not know anything about cars so they could see what crap was gonna come out of your mouth!

I did that at a local meet once. Kid pulled up and parks next to me with a 2002 Sentra SEr. Pops the hood and the crap started flowing out of his mouth!! The most noteable thing was that his "mechanic" said he had a special OEM JDM intake manifold that produced 4psi of NA boost. (Car was bone stock under the hood). I acted stupid, and let him continue. He then asked what my Z was runninng the 1/4. I told him low 13s. (With my blower obviously sticking out of the top of my hood). He then scoffed and said i wasted my money because his Sentra was runnimg mid 12s and he didn't have to do a thing to it.

The poor kid was so proud of the $hit coming out of his mouth, i decided to be nice and not call him out. It was still classic none the less!!

Yeah I know, Whenever in IV bring boxing gloves because its always time to get down.. ..There's about 5 new is250's that are parked on the streets, I wonder WHY I havent seen a Z parked because it would probably get smashed instantly, but there's a really cute sorority girl with a Brickyard parked in dp On another note, I got a ticket on campus the other day for going 40 in a 25... Im thinking of hardwiring a radar detector, I want to get a Blinder m27 jammer really badly but it would be illegal.... Im getting some personalized veteran license plates so I hope it helps with tickets, Cops basically stare at you like here, because nothing would make their day more than to stop a college kid with a blue z! I didnt have my plates yet and when the cop stopped me he was like, "So you have been saving all your life for this or what?" and I was like, ummm no this is what 5 yrs of active duty Navy gets you and I paid cash ,

I don't get the relevance of being in the Navy for 5 years, vice having a steady job for 5 years, has to do with paying off your Z?

Also, i'm pretty sure (not positive) you have to be a VFW to be eligible for veteran plates. Let me know though because i served for 8 years, and still work for the Government as a DOD civilian, and was contemplating on getting the veteran plates too.

No im just saying, He was trying to put me down hence his little smile and smirk when he was saying it and thought I was just some punkass little kid because I look really young, and got ticketed right on campus So I just wanted to rub it in his face ..
For the plates, Just present your DD214 and as long as your Honorable your good to go, .. However for the ones that have certain logos, then your going to have to show proof that your a member of that certain organization. Mine will have the Naval Minewarfare Assoc Emblem on it. I got this all done at the local AAA, also beware if your going to get them personalized then it will take 6-8 weeks for delivery since they special order them from Sacramento.

Good deal!! We don't have as specific of a selection here in VA, but we still have Vet plates none the less, so i'll give it a try!! I'm still holding out for a Submariner plate, but i dont' see that happening anytime soon since there are so few of us.
