Default Buying a 350Z soon!

Hey guys, I'm currently in the process of selling my show quality WRX and I'm in the market for a 2003-2004 350z. I went to go look at a 2003 w/59k miles today but it had a few issues.

He had the drive belts replaced, but some reason on cold starts the car will make a loud squeel then disappear... after the car was warm it no longer made the noise on start up. I had this issue with my wrx before but it was the a/c belts. I'm wondering if this is a minor fix or if it could be more serious problem?

Also, the car already has 19x9.5/10.5 volk sf's (which was what drew me to it mostly lol) but one of them turned out to have a small bend on the outside lip. The tire still holds air but I'm wondering if it's worth fixing the bend? And I've read all about the infamous tire feathering, but he claims he hasn't had a problem with it. Anyway, he did mention he was willing to fix whatever needed to be fixed before selling. He's asking $13,800 for the car, but If I went through with this I would ask him to repair the bent wheel, repair the belt squeel, and get a professional detail (its a black Z, had a few swirls)

Any input on what you guys think would be MUCH appreciated! Should I hold off for another one?

Asking for a detail might be a little much if it's a private seller, but if he says he'll fix the rim and belts, get him to do so to your satisfaction. Bent rim could be troubles down the road, and the belts arent a big deal. Just loose/wet i think.

thanks for the reply. I wouldn't think the belt would be that big of an issue, he said he would take it back to the nissan dealer where he had the work done. I'm thinking I would negotiate a lower price for the cost of an entire new wheel from volk. I would feel much more comfortable with a new wheel rather than fixing a bend.

The thing is I've found a 2006 base model Z for 14,000 with 57k miles. I really wanted the touring model though. I haven't seen it in person yet either beacuse it is kind of far

A whole new wheel would probably increase the price, not lower it.

With the 06, if you get a manual you'll have to worry about oil consumption as lots of them had it. Just be patient and you'll find the one you want. Might I suggest looking at the classifieds here? Lots of deals and you know the chances of it being well cared for are probably higher then from some random.

You probably want to keep a show quality Subaru rather than drive a beat-up 350Z.

Well I meant negotiate a lower price to compensate for me having to purchase a new wheel from volk. And thanks for the heads up on the 2006s, I wasn't aware of the oil problem they seem to have. I have looked at the classifieds here, have been for a while

That's a well kept WRX. With the others on this, maybe keep looking. Let us know how you get on.
