New to the site, owned for about 2 months
Hey guys, I've had this thing for going on two months now. I'm having difficulty figuring out what body pieces it has. I was wondering if you guys could help me out. Though, I just realized you can't really get a good look at the spoiler.
I got it used (third owner), and the outside is nice, but inside is / was a different story. Nearly gutted it, ran all new speaker cables (old ones were melting...), has to reinstall all of the interior pieces from the firewall on the passenger side all the way into the trunk. Repaired one of the dials that was damaged, and on and on and on. And it still needs more work. But I enjoy taking it down to the bone and building it back up
. So to that end, anyone know of any good spots around San Diego to acquire parts? I'm looking to replace all of the panels in the trunk, as they are damaged.
Anyone around San Diego or know of any meet ups that happen?
Thanks,
Michael

yeah its the 2005 'Ultra Yellow', I forgot to mention before that its a base model. Thanks for the info about it being the nismo bodywork. Does anyone have insight about where I could buy another nose piece? either online or local. someone threw a piece of their car at me on the freeway the other day and it cracked the nose on both sides (must be where the mount points are just below the joint with the side panels), ripped good size pieces out of the nose on the passenger side and and now all the paint is spidering. thinking about reporting it to the insurance, but I'd like to see if it'd be worth it to just replace it myself so I dont get the mark and save it for something more serious.
Thanks,
Michael

considering that what you describe will happen constantly and the lip is fiberglass -
get it repaired unless it is totally destroyed.
a new one will run $300+++ shipped to your door plus paint and inconvenience.
save your insurance for a real banger.

Well I think one of the previous owners had put a sound system between the bar and the seats ( just screwed something into the plastic panels ). I also found this past weekend that the spare tire cover wasn't sitting properly ( the foam piece on the drivers side wasn't sitting right ), and after I took it all out to figure out why, you could tell someone had been monkeying around in the back as well. most of the push pin things that hold various pieces down were missing, I found a couple of the attached hooks that hold pieces on the bar down were also missing or broken. i fixed as much as I could and it fits a whole lot better now, but a lot of pieces still have strange rub / scrape / hole damage on them. And some of the pieces in the seating area have wear mark, the shifter **** is falling apart. Nothing serious, just general annoyances that ( I think ) come about from a lack of care for the interior of the car. Although, the outside wasn't perfect either
, a large amount of black over-spray all over the car that took me a good afternoon to get off, the surface on the wheels is coming off. But not to sound like I'm complaining
, love the car, and I enjoy doing all the work, just didn't realize all of this when I bought it. I'm trying to find a scrap yard around here to go see if I cant salvage replacement pieces from a wrecked z, like the random plastic pieces.
I'll try and take some photos of the interior though, show you guys what I'm talking about.

darknecromancer - Where are you located in San Diego? Sorry for the late PM reply about the audio equipment. Let me know if you still want it and its yours for the price that you requested. Shoot me an email at "chi.patel@gmail.com". Your car looks great from the outside. Would be interested to see what the interior looks like.
