finally a part of the z community
hello everybody. i finally decided to pull the trigger and pick up a 2005 35th anniversary 350z today with 29k miles . i will try to have pics up as soon as possible. this seems to be a very helpful forum and i look forward to being part of the z community
.
i have a couple of questions though. the door that covers the navi seem to be stuckin the middle and not opening or closing at all. it was working perfectly fine yesterday when i test drove the car but today after i picked it up it seem to stop working. my question is is this a known problem and is there a quick fix for this as i dont want to schedule an appointment to have them fix it. in the owners manual it states that this might be caused from disconnecting the battery.
also there seems to be alot of threads about the rev-up motor on the 35th anniversary model and track model about oil consumption. is this a problem with all 2005 35th anniversary and track versions as well as 2006 models or is it just the unlucky few. if i checked the oil regularly and topped off between oil changes will it be ok. thank you in advance for the replies.

pretty Z. got a nice setup; the five spoke wheels, brembos, and leather!

like i just said, your post is so crammed together i didnt see your question about oil consumption, but to answer it, the revup motor your 35th has is the same motor that was standard in all 2006s, meaning it falls under the possibility of having oil consumption problems. my 2006 never had a single sign of it, so whether or not yours will is a matter of luck!

Check the oil regularly, make it a habit, like every Saturday morning when the car is cold, or something like that. I believe there are more oil burners that people simply don't know about and don't find out about, so the numbers appear less. It is a manufacturing flaw on the 300hp 6MT rev-ups, and depending on when your car was first titled, it may still be under the 5/60 warranty. You should know (or be able to fine out) when it was first titled and registered from Carfax, the dealer, or other history that was provided with the car.
Regardless, if you are out of warranty and your car burns 1qt of oil every 1000 miles, no big deal (if you ask me).

thanks for the replies everyone so far i am loving the car. im just glad i found out about this problem sooner than later. my powertrain warranty just expired in march so ill make sure to check and change oil religiously.
