Default new 1st time Z owner. what mods do you recomend?

Hey guys I just bought my first 350z. It is an 03, silver, coupe model. I was wondering what mods you guys would recommend? I was thinking about a carbon fiber hood and maybe a cool air intake to start. Let me know me know what you guys have done and what you think.

Exhaust, suspension, wheels, then whatever you want.

Cold air intake, sway bars, catback exhaust, test pipes, plenum spacer. Shouldnt be more than a few thousand and gives you a good performance boost

Depends on how you use the car... Do what you want, and just ask for advice on how and how much on here. There is a weath of knowledge on this forum. BE THICK SKINNED! especially with questions like this.

welcome to the boards and good luck modding!

Greetings from a fellow serviceman!

That's a pretty good condition bumper for being an '03... haha.
Get a shorty antenna! What the other guys said are good starter mods: CAI, catback, plenum spacer, sway bars and whatever small eyecandy mods you want.

Good lookin Z, dont park so close to curbs! Start making that a habit now, so when you get a sweet lip on there or even lower your car, you already know how far back to be!

Howdy!

Welcome to the forums & congrats on the Z, she's purdy!

Definitely read the stickies and the link that zland posted. Then learn to use search... it can be your best friend on here.

Someone above mentioned thick skin. Everyone is really nice (or I think that they can be), but you can imagine that they get restless when asked the same question 3,512,378,179 times a day that is posted in the FAQ/stickies. Those are really the only things that you need to have thick skin about.

The only other advice I would give is to listen to everything like it was made of gold if it comes from a moderator or someone that has a ton of posts on here. I could have really saved myself some trouble and money if I wasn't hard headed and had truly listened/learned 99% of the time and only talked 1% of the time when I first started out.

haha ya i found that out the very first day i had it. Im def starting to get the hang of how far i can pull in.

I am def learning how to use the search. Seems like I will be joining the masses on replacing that damn oil pressure sensor. Oh well looks like its the only thing that needs to be fixed on her for now and for an 03 im ok with that.

Im still looking at what I want to do, i want a new exhaust just trying to figure out which brand I want to go with.

i had a 2004 and if you're looking for simple not break the bank mods - i'd say the best mod i did for mine was a CAI (cold air intake) and 5/16th plenum spacer.
the DE motors have an insufficient air flow problem - but the spacer helped/fixed that issue and even gives the car a deeper growl to it. also the nismo lightweight flywheel really helped acceleration - but fair warning - when u go from dual mass flywheel and shed 8lbs to the nismo - i got quite a bit of chatter when at idle.

good luck - have fun and congrats on the Z!!! i love mine!
