Default 2500 RPM limit?

Hello,
I just joined the club, bought an 07 350z and have been loving it. Today I went to go to the store and in each gear I was limited to 2500 RPM. Turned the car off, restarted it and no problems surpassing that. Did I inadvertently activate some sort of safe mode? If so what is the trigger?

Yeah, no rev limit light, checked the rpm setting on the trip computer, still set to 7k, I'm not sure what (if anything) I did differently.

The computer setting for rpms doesn't have anything to do with the rev limiter. All it does is provide a blinking light on the dash for the setting you enter into it. The blinking light is a visual cue for you to start shifting. Regardless of what you set it at the computer will still allow you to rev the engine up to the rev limiter.

It might be that your car is tuned and if you messed with the cruise control you could've pick valet mode.

no, playing with the cruise control will switch between ecu maps. You can't really reset it, just find the fastest one

it will have a code stored regardless of the SEL on or not, go to the dealership or shop and find out the error code.

+1 on code being stored but not CEL.

If you have an Aamco around you take it there, they will scan the code for you for free.

It's an 07 Enthusiast with 26k miles, no mods as far as I can tell, except for some lame carbon fiber stickers on the A frame and around the mirrors. I assume they are the culprit. I have an OBDII scanner, I didn't even think about it being an error. I'll report back once I can scan it.
