Default Bought a 03 350z about 2 weeks ago

Hello forum, I would just like to introduce myself to the forums, and ask a few starter questions someone maybe able to help me out on. I just bought a 350z about 2 weeks ago. Some things i have noticed about this car so car. The drivers side door leaks. I have taken it to the car wash and noticed that water is leaking in once i get inside. I wasn't to concerned about it until the other night i was driving home in a very light rain, and it started to drip in. I was wondering if there is a common problem with then windows leaking, and if anyone knows of an easy fix. Also the car has a Borla exhaust that seems to have an offal lot of rattle. Has anyone else experienced this with an aftermarket exhaust, or do you think the guy who did it just screwed it up, and didn't secure everything down.

Not a common issue. might just be weathered strips along the top of the window, its quite an easy replacement. As for the exhaust, just bring it to an exhaust shop and have them take a look. Welcome to the site and post pics!

I believe the problem is that this cheesy exhaust uses too many pieces and rather than being screwed together by mating flanges they slip in to eachother and get clamped. I imagine over time these clamps get loose and cause rattles.

The Borla is known to rattle, but the nice thing about it coming in so many pieces is that you can adjust nearly everything. I needed a few tweaks, now its rattle free. Check the passenger side muffler hanger, the hanger is very close to the hanger mount on the car. Check there for clearance, from my inspection, the rear section just in front of and parts of the muffler have the closest contact points.

Welcome, im not a fan of borla exhaust design, they break the exhaust down into to many pieces increasing the chance for leaks, and you more bolts and nuts increasing the chance of rattle

There is a picture of my z. She's a little wet just drying off after a wash . The exhaust tips don't line up straight either. It definitely needs some adjusting.

As you can see, the left exhaust tip sticks out a lot more than the right side

One side of the pipes is not pressed in far enough, or all of the pipes on the right side are pressed in way too far, it was installed like ****. Both of mine stick out equally like your left one does. Loosen the clamps and use a rubber mallet, or pull them apart a bit, see if u can make them even. Might also fix your rattle.
