Hey guys I'm not well versed in 350Zs and I was just wondering, if you were to straight pipe the exhaust (no mufflers, cats, anything) what would the best diameter be?
My friend just bought an 05, its essentially stock, its a 6MT with a cai and he wants to straight pipe it. he said 3.5" and I told him he's crazy, he's going to lose power doing that. Maybe 2.5-2.75?
Any advice would be great.
Thanks in advance,
Brian

I have a high compression 2 liter engine in my Celica and it's well known that 2.5" exhaust is best all around for that specific engine. 2.5" on the VQ35 is choking it. I believe stock exhaust is 2.75".
Edit: Is he going single or dual straight pipes? I was assuming he was going to have a single straight pipe.
