Default 2005 350Z 35th Anniversary: How'd I do?

Finally! I have been stockpiling birthday/holiday money and my paychecks away since I was 12 for a Z. And today, is when it all pays off. I bought a yellow, 2005 350Z 35th Ann. Edition 350Z. It is a 6 Speed Manual, stock everything. No spoiler, full leather, and new tires. I love every bit of it.

However, it has an Accident Title from a previous owner hitting a deer. That owner sold it at auction to a local 'Mom and Pop' dealership where I picked it up. The seller was very up front with me and backed it 100%... however, he mentioned when he plugged an OBD2 device in, it comes up with a "Check Cam Sensor". And he said he's having Nissan fix it, and we have it all documented in writing. I am picking the car up in 4 Days. The car has 90K miles, clutch is great, engine runs beautifully, trans. has no winds or bogs and it systematically feels good.

All in all, how'd you guys say I did? I got it for $11,500 USD.

Right now about all I have are is the cover photo from the classified on Autotrader. I could have gotten ya 16 more of them, but the seller pulled the page. All I have as far as Pics go is the cover photo in my car's profile. I don't know the technical name for the place where you post your car and it's information, but its in that section of my profile.

Anyways, I'm going to try to slap a spoiler on it for my first modification. Nothing crazy, but enough to make it stand out from a rich old man's Z.

But, I am going to have a hell of a time with that, as this is my first car. I just got licensed today. Hopefully, I did well as far as pricing and condition go.

I don't know if the engine is on its last leg being at 90K, but I know that the engine in the Z and G35 are the same, and both are renowned for durability and power on the internet car review sites. (Motortrend, etc.)

Sounds like a great deal if everything checks out OK.
Good luck on getting a spoiler. Many 35th Ann. owners want to
keep their cars stock.Their belief it will be a "collectors" car in the future.
I don't buy this.Too many were made. But,you may play it safe and install a OEM
spoiler. There always seems to be some for sale on the marketplace. No big deal
having it painted your color.

I love how after posting detailed information... someone just walks up and says "I hope you have enough for a new motor"... without rhyme or reason. I'd be more apt to listen if you could tell me what to look out for, rather than just telling me it's dead on arrival. I hate how pessimistic some people can be. However, the VQ35 is mass produced, so if something does go wrong. It would not be the worst thing in the world to replace. The other car I was looking at was a 13B '04 RX-8... so I'd be obliged to replace a VQ35 over that scary rotary.

Yeah, as far as the spoiler goes. I didn't buy the car for collectability--but I didn't buy it to hellaflush it either. I am a 16 year old kid, this is my first car... so I know it isn't going to look how I bought it when the time comes to re-sell. I am looking at the APR, and the V2 Nismo. The problem is the price. I will most likely go for a replica, as I'm on a budget.

If you read up, the motor in the anniversary edition and 2006 models may have oil consumption problems. Do you have records on servicing?

Never heard that, but I'll take your word on it. I hadn't heard about that problem before. But, the engine is fine, and the previous owner is having the oil changed for free, and he said he has had no oil problems/engine/tranny problems other that the CEL coming on about the Cam Sensors, which are being fixed at Nissan today/tomorrow.
