Thumbs up My first 350Z

hey everybody... I recently got my 2003 350 Z in December so close to a year now...I got it from the dealer...it already came with 19 in rims nitto tires borla exhaust and intake...it drives good...but i'm looking to have not only a fun car but a reliable fast car that I can daily drive...i'm thinking of getting a GTM rotrex supercharger in it...GTM is only like 20 mins away from my house...but I was told that my 03 Z is a DE motor which they said it was a "throw away motor" can I have any comments on that please? I only rev up to 6500 RPM and I would like to rev higher...i'm use to reving like 8500 lol my Z already has looks so I just need power but at the same time have that daily driver reliability...please let me know what you guys think...

thanks

Even the newer HR motors redline at 7500. Power and reliability is a fine line. If you want more power and still keep it a daily driver, you're talking about doing a serious and "good" engine build. I wouldn't call the DE a "throw away motor" by any means. A lot of people on here are making some serious power with them, both S/C and Turbo'd.

Do your research on here in the F/I section and learn somethings about the motor and car.

It wouldn't have to be that serious of a build if OP is looking for like 400-450 whp. Small build + good tune = reliable.

Normally at least.

I feel the same way, someone should throw up the BS flag.

As all of you can see I'm very new to the Z family, I really enjoy knowledge from anybody that is willing to share.... I know that vortech is a very known sc for the Zs but it's way to noisy, I rather have the more quite rotrex sc... I'm looking for like 500hp with a very good tune and a daily driver...

that's a pretty big goal. 500hp and daily driven just don't belong together. It's hard to maintain a NA motor with aftermarket F/I. Since you already have some basic bolt on parts on your car, and its your daily drive, maybe you should look into upgrading the suspension parts and have fun with it

Sorry I haven't been on here guys, I've been busy with work, I was actually looking at the momentum turbo kit... That company is amazing but to bad they're out of business, pretty sad... What's a great company that offers an amazing experience of a gt35r turbo kit? Please any advice would be highly appreciated
