TempestZ's Progress Thread
Ill start by saying I have been a member here for a while, and a Z owner for 2 years. I love this car, and this forum.I am at work right now and only have one picture. And also overseas at the moment so I will only be able to post what I have. But I WILL post more when I get to the bunks. If i can find it, i will also try posting a Video of the exhaust.
I bought the car bone stock, aquired some free wheels from a friend at a dealership, installed Kinetix high flow cats, custom N1 style dual exit exhaust, and a DCSports SRI. I have been creepin around this forum for a yr-ish now doing nothing but research, never commenting, posting, asking questions etc. Just reading what others have had to say. After countless, countless hours, days , and probably weeks worth of research, I have come to the conclusion of going FI. I just found that the NA Z for me will not make me hapy in my needs. However my 240z will. She is for autocross and thats it. lol. but a great car nonetheless. I also have many hours of research in FI so that I do this build right the first time. Finding every single thing I could, about what parts seem to be the best quality/price/fit/power etc. So I have ended up with; built block, P&P heads, Cams, Kinetixv+ plenum, all the cooling upgrades, clutch, electronics, etc. the Turbo Kit of choice is going to be Boosted Performances mid-mount Single turbo kit, in hopes of reaching 600whp on high boost and may go further with methanol injection, but still thinking that may be a little much. not sure about it yet.
Sorry this is long but i just wanted to get opinions etc. Trying to finally get my posts up instead of being a little creeper like I have been for the past year.
Questions? Comments? please feel free. I love talking about my car and others. and would like to gain a few post points here and there. If i get flamed, hey, who hasnt been?!
Thanks,
Kyle

Thanks, This one was taken in the Appalachian Mountains in North Carolina (where im from) in September just before i left. I have a few more coming eventually.
I can't actually say where I am at. Other than the Middle East. Still have 5 more months here, but its not too shabby. Are you military too?
As for the build it should start sometime after Christmas and be finished around the time I get back home in April. (yes someone is doing my build for me while I am gone) I usually aways do them myself, but unfortunately this one is something im not sure if i can tackle, therefore the professional route looked great to me.

Just wanted to update the progress so far:
Car is at the shop, SpeedForSale in GA
Projected date of completion - 1st week of May
Builld Details:
Built motor as mentioned above
BP ST T4 CEA 6266 .96a/r Tuner kit
plug n play 1150cc injectors
340lph Fuel Pump
Haltech PnP Pro (previous to standalone model)
Megan single exit 3" Drift catback
DCSports headers
Z1 twin disc Clutch/flywheel package-extreme coating
RJM Adjustable Clutch bracket
Z1 master cooling hose set
MREV2
APS tall boy plenum
Fluidamper
Mishimoto oil cooler, radiator, twin fan assembly, thermostat.
And much more, but that should do for now...
2 Maps are going to be made for this build, low boost and high boost.
Low for driveability, and High obviously for track. The High boost tune I am trying to push the turbo/fuel as far as it will let me on race Gas. Hopeful 700whp, but we all know how that goes. No matter the result I will be happy, I understand the dyno is a tuning tool. Just trying to give Sasha the Gratitude of his kit being capable/having proof of a 700whp car...
More to come as the build progresses, please feel free to comment and/or ask questions

Well, I have been absent from the forums for quite sometime, I apologize on the late update but here goes:
The 06 350z made 451whp. Loved every we one of it. But the built motor ended up being trashed from the guy I bought it from. :/ never buying a motor sight unseen again. My own personal mistake. Lesson learned. So we used the stock motor to make the above numbers. I do not have a dyno with me, was done on Speedforsale in ATL GA's mustang dyno. Results were great. Sasha's kit was amazing. Better than I had hoped for. Drive the car from NC to CA. And had the car out here for about 3 weeks. Then had all kinds of problems. (Clutch, throwout bearing, see light, limp mode, etc.) so once the car was immobilized I had it parked at a bus stop, came back two days later. A note had been left on my car, called the guy up, told him what was wrong and he bought the car. I took the money and bought an 09 magnetic black touring sport 370Z. Sucks about the 350. But it's being used as a race car now. It's in a better place. Btw, Sasha the race teams LOVES your turbo kit. They hate coming out of turns full throttle but love the power and torque it makes. Anyway on to the new ride! Any questions about either please feel free to ask.
