Default BMW owner, wants to switch to 350z

Hey guys, Glad to be here. I've been lurking for a bit. I have been Reading some stuff about the 350z what to expect and what cheap/easy mods I can do myself. I have automotive technician experience, I can do basic stuff like suspension work and engine work. I'm 19 and from Vancouver, B.C. I drive a BMW Z3, which is for sale to fund for the 350z.

Picking this up next week, after I sell my Z3.

Oh boy! Another cheap and easy mod thread!

But seriously, your point is?

Are you trying to sell your car on here?

Anyway, I followed the craigslist link. I would stay away from all of those corner car places, they never honor their warranties. The price seems pretty high as well. Keep watching Kijiji and something better will come up.

EDIT - Check this out, I just looked really quick and it already seems like a better deal (just have to get new wheels).

Yeah, didn't want to make it seem like I'm trying to sell my car :P
I recently went and viewed the car, just wondering how rare the interior is. The salesman told me it was fairly rare.

recommending mods would be based on what route / plans you have in the future. show/drift/autox/audio?

It looks re-upholstered to me. I'm not sure if that was a from-factory interior (I think the leather is supposed to have more perforation and I haven't seen a two-tone like that before).

I could be mistaken though, so it wouldn't hurt to hear from somebody else on here as well.

Basically cosmetic mods such as a nismo lip with some nice wheels (work, nismo, etc. Nothing really flashy), some bolt on engine/suspension mods. Non ricer mods. I will most likely will auto-x it.

Unless the cars in Canada are vastly different than here, I'd say thatis definitely not factory seats. I don't see swithes for the heated seats so that tells me it's not a Touring model.

Re. the price, I don't know how the Canadian stacks up against the U.S. si can't offer an opinion on the price.

If you've done your research here all '06s with manual transmission have what's called a rev-up engine and some have had oil consumption issues. Look deeper here and I think you can find the VINs and production dates this applies to.

Good luck.
