Love This CARR
hey guys my name is ali fakory and i just bought myself a 03 350z to replace my 04 rx8. i gotta say the torque on this car is uncomparable to my 8 but i do miss going 60 on off ramps without hesitation unfortunately the owner put a greddy single exhaust so it looks horrible but its nice overall. and i dont want this to be a question thread but something i have noticed was rare grinding in 3 and 5 gear. the infamous auto up window coming back down. and taking off and being in a gear too high makes the car sound like a deisel truck some suggestions would be nice cuz i dont know the norms but back to the intro. i am 20(please dont judge i was a technician for toyo(1 year at 16) and honda(2 years 17-19)) and i know how to treat and take care of my car. I pay for every single thing that pertains to the car but since i am in premed my dad pays for insurance to help me out. i am not an idiot teen because my cars mean too much to me to screw around( just 2 days ago i was challanged by 3 ricers in a lumina i just laughed and drove normally cuz it wasnt worth my gas) because i come from a poor family and i worked hard to buy my rx8 and now my 350z the 2 cars i never thought i would have as a child. the rx8 meant more to me because in 04 my uncle test drove one home and i fell in love but thought i would never have one. god had other plans for me i guess so thats me in a nutshell and i am glad to be part of the family!!!

CD0009 replacement should be the last option. replace the fluid with something a little more thicker, like Redline MT-90, maybe some Heavy Shockproof mixed in depending on how bad it is. Fixed my grinding issues almost entirely. I would not want to have my car down for a day or two for a trans replacement while in med school.

just be gentle with it going to those gears. It helps to wait till there is some heat in the transmission before you start driving it like a man.
I usually let the car idle for a bit before i ever drive it. coming from a rotary you may be familiar with how important oil pressure is to engine life. make sure before you start giving it the Go Pedal, that the oil pressure has dropped to around 20psi at idle. youll thank us in 60k miles.
Dont know the mileage on it, or what maintenance has been done, but you should at least just change all the fluids. ALL of them. my car had 65k on it when i changed the fluids. Apparently none of them had never been done by the previous owner, as the coolant came out a weird greenish brown color. The differential chattered. The transmission would grind to 3rd and 5th like yours. The clutch fluid had what looked like rust in it and the pedal would stick down if you dragged the clutch or clutch kicked it. The brake fluid was brown and the pedal would mush. Power steering fluid looked like bloody pepto bismal and whined more than two spoiled children in a Toys-R-us without their parents. I changed all the fluids and i swear the car is smoother than some 2008 cars I've driven with less miles.
Good luck man, these cars are very rewarding to drive when the symbiotic relationship between man and machine kicks in.
