Hello all,

My name is Ryan. I recently (yesterday) purchased a 2007 350z. I had a 92 240sx that I built with the money I saved from my deployment to Afghanistan, but I lost interest in it. So I picked up my Z.

The Z looks good. Congratulations. I also want to thank you for your service. Are you in the First Cav?

Thanks for the welcome.

As for my military service: It is my pleasure to defend this awesome country. Though I am just one cog in the big machine.

Thank you for your service Sir. I love being in the Cav. Lots of Army tradition. I especially like wearing my Stetson and my spurs. What did you do in the service?

Just intakes, exhaust, coilovers and the N1 front lip. I did a full build on my S13 and I don't want to sink that much money, time, and heartache into a car again. Plus I have to focus my finances on my 4 kids.

I was a combat engineer, MOS 12B30. That is probably different today. I spent one year in Vietnam but like I said, that was a long time ago.

I'm not sure what the identifier is for Combat engineer is now. I have a lot of respect for Vietnam veterans. I did a year in Afghanistan, but that is nothing like the kind of war in Vietnam.

Most of my close family is or was military. My father in law was drafted in Vietnam and decided to continue with the Army as a career. He retired as a CW4 UH-60 Blackhawk pilot. My dad retired from the Army as a CW4 AH-64 Apache pilot. My brother is currently deployed to Afghanistan. He is a CW2 Blackhawk pilot. My mother in law is in the Active National Guard as a full bird Colonel. I am just a lowely E-5. I am an Air Traffic Controller.

I was a lowly E-5 myself and that was ok. I just looked up combat engineer on an army website and it is still 12B. Amazing................
