Default Finally!!!

Hey all. My name is Shawn and I live in south/central IL(unfortunately). So about four months ago I happened to be in the market for a new car. My first car was a 97 saturn sc2, front wheel drive 5 speed.... So now that the embarrassment is out of the way. When I was about 10-11(born in 92') I remember seeing this Nissan that caught my attention and it had me drooling on the floor. I wanted it and I wanted it now, but 30k was out of my range, and I was 10 haha. Anyway I always told myself I would have one eventually. Well about 4 months ago I aquired an 04' silver 350z base.

I've been lurking on these forums for a week or so now learning all that I can about it, SO MUCH INFORMATION. I am not a newbie to cars I have worked(well tinkered) on them pretty well all of my life. Anyway I don't know what my plans are for it yet, maybe a FI kit, maybe not. I do know I want a body kit, a small wing, a LSD and different rims. I've already tinted the windows, added a HUGE Z a friend made for me. The kid that had it before me put a flowmaster 80 series muffler on it(sounds alright but I want it louder). Might do test pipes. AHHHHH so much things I want...I time I guess. Anyway that's it, off to more reading. )

Glad you finally got into a Z. I live in Iowa right now so my girl is hibernating in the garage. Is this your daily driver?

Good luck modding and welcome to the forum!

@RunWDVL. I've been wondering if there was some kind of Ill club, guess that answers that question.

How is that Base model in the snow? Do you have winter tires?(I'm at work and can't see pictures)

I'd be sad to drive my Z in the snow. Well the Salt and Sand anyway.

It actually isn't that bad. After our 8'' of drifting snow I had trouble getting out of my driveway(foot nd a half snow drifts and whatnot). Other than that it never got squirlley on me. I did have trouble one night that it kinda melted and refroze, never went off but it tried to come around a few times, and I have KUMO all season tires(new tires right before I bought it). I eventually want to get an LSD to help with the onetirefire.

Welcome to the forums. Please take that massive Z off the back window. Other than that it looks good.

I don't know where you are located in Illinois, but the Gateway Z Club in St Louis might be closer for you than the Central Illinois Z Enthusiasts. CIZE is located in Springfield, IL. Both those clubs get together for cruises a couple times a year.

Thanks guys. Uhh St. Louis and Springfield are about the same distance for me.(I live close to Vandalia if you know where that is.) I'll have to check the site out, it'd be pretty fun to drive with other ''Z's".

@350zHalleck, No way lol I love it, keeps people from asking about my "Porche". Plus it's a one of a kind to my knowledge, I couldn't find one so a friend made it for me.

@Nick C, if I ever venture over that way I'll give ya a shout.

Welcome! You're not all that far from me..I'm right on the WI/IL border. As far as the "Porsche questions"..you might as well get used to it! haha. Driving a Z you'll get all kinds of unwanted attention, people asking questions, taking pictures etc..at least I do anyway. You'd be surprised at how many people have never heard/seen any type of Z before in the midwest!
