Long time Nissan enthusiast, first Z
Hi all,
Been looking around on these forums for a while, but thought I'd finally post since I actually own a 350Z now. I've owned quite a few different kinds of cars, and Nissans are my favorite by far. I've owned three 240sx's, a D21 pick up, and my current daily is a 2011 Frontier Pro-4X. Now I have a black 2003 touring model Z to add to the roster. So far I'm really liking it, but just trying to un-do and fix the mistakes of previous owners, then I'll get to some of the other items I have planned.
Here's how it looks as of yesterday. I just got the G35 wheels on it this weekend and took off the chrome 20's. Needless to say, it drives much nicer with the lighter wheels.

Thanks gents. Got some more little thing done to it last night. This weekend I'm hoping to get around to changing the diff and tranny fluid. Gotta get this thing back to square one and fix all the little things that I keep discovering.
Side note, if anyone has a Nismo s-tune exhaust laying around, I'm looking to pick one up to get the eBay special taken off ASAP.
thanks!

Welcome!
I highly recommend changing the diff and tranny fluid with Redline fluid. Redline MT-85 works perfect in the tranny and I have Redline 75W90 in the diff. The Redline took away my 5th gear grind and also made the notchy tranny quite smooth now.
Good luck finding a S-Tune exhaust! Since they became discontinued I rarely see them pop up on the classifieds.
From personal experience, if you can get your hands on one you will love it!
If not the Z has plenty of great alternatives, such as Motordyne, HKS, Agency Power, Tomei, etc.
Just remember, if you want the most power get a true dual, but if you want to keep the sexy VQ sound opt for a single, either single exhaust or dual exit is fine.
Another option instead of an aftermarket exhaust is putting a stock exhaust with the HR Y-Pipe and either HFCs or TPs.
A buddy of mine had the stock exhaust with HFCs on his G35 and it sounded real nice. TPs will yield a little bit of rasp but will make you more power.

If anyone sees a Nismo S-Tune pop up, I have cash in hand, ready to buy!

Thanks! I changed the diff and trans fluid over the weekend. Seems to be helping with 5th gear, but it is still stubborn and really won't go in unless I push pretty hard. I don't hear any grinding noises though. Gonna keep driving it and hope it improves.
