I have recently replaced an old 1994 Shaturn SL1 with a 2003 350z, with 79000k, replaced flywheel, exhaust, audio, rear bumper, windshield, and head unit. All for 8.5k with a CLEAN title (especially where I live) The only thing is that the audio was twisted and taped and the windows wont shut(already halfway done with butt connectors and new harnesses). The cubbies are all broken(gorilla glue should do the job). The seat power controls stopped working(disassembled the switches and spray damn near a gallon of electrical parts cleaner) There's a funky stench in the car (already vacuumed, and steam cleaned it). The left rear panel is pushed in towards the back 3in with rust there are drill holes in trunk where a previous spoiler use to be. Finally the exhaust, Mother of god it drones, it's a 3" AAM true dual exhaust that is much to loud for my taste. There has also been some goodies that have been found when gutting the car: Ray Ban prescription sunglasses, 3 x ratchets, 1/8th of marijuana, 79 cents, and a whole **** ton of pubes (MCM fanboy) Looking forward to become a long time member of the Zociety

 

Not sure if you posted pictures since I'm at work. If so, disregard. Sounds like you got an overall good Z, a lot of those issues are common even to me as a 2nd owner.

Any idea what you'll replace the AAM with? Did you check to see if it has test pipes? Replacing those with Resonated ones or HFCs would "quiet" it down a bit.

Not quite sure what to do about the droning exhaust. I've seemed to tickled some fancies when I decided to use halp instead of help, and plz instead of please so that's just a dandy start to the forum. Guess I just have a massive difference in vocabulary coming from the geek/nerd forums (reddit) to automotive forums

Alrighty, the door panels are off and the speakers are out, the RE audio speakers are utter **** now. the mounting points are warped, and the foam is pulled, cracked, warped, and torn. Will need to replace the foam soon, but for now it will do.
