New owner looking to make more power
I would go greddy TT since the engine is a V6 its better on spool time because the turbos are small. 7-8psi will get you 400whp on a greddy kit no problem and if you decide to pull the motor you can easily put forged internals and turn up the boost to 15-20 psi and easily get 600+ hp.
on a turbonetics kit it pretty much maxes out at 520whp for built motor..........so i would not go with turbonetics.
start here: https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...for-noobs.html
Do NOT I repeat start taking advice from here: Turdoed350z
he will tell you, you need to balance your CAMshafts because they dont come balanced from the factory........
*facepalm*
he will tell you it will cost in excess of $35,000 dollars for 400whp.
wait patiently importdude, plenty of forum members put their kits up for sale for a 1/3 of the cost of the full retail price. I know many members sell their used greddy TT kits around 3-3.5k includes both ecu and injectors. on this forum check the turbo classifieds...... If you can get access to a garage buy a jack and jack stands and 300 dollar toolset from home depot and do the install yourself. Then tow car to shop for tune or call a tuner to make a house visit. I would say you need about 4k for 400 whp 7-8psi on stock internals.

Actuakly if you knoe anything about cars as you claim.... camshaft and crankshaft BOTH comes imbalance from the manufacturer. The only reason many dont balance their camshaft, is because the cost to power ratio is so low its not worth it.
Ask any race team, they will tell you you balanve your camshaft and you will net around 3-5hp. But then again, you wouldnt know that since you asked what was needed to install control arms so theres that....
Oh and 4k for 400whp??? Tell me where youre getting a turbo kit fornonly 1k, since youll need around 1k to tune, 1.5k for a clutch kit, and fuel pump is a few hundreds. So theres that...
Also a use turbo kit.... sooo you want to install the kit, then 500 miles down the road, have to take it all apart and rebuilt the kit? Sounds so smart.... so fun piecing together uncomplete kits...
And you should NEVER tow the car to a tuner, you have ZERO idea if it even runs for the tune. Any half educated modder knows, you finish the build, to test drive it, break it in, THEN get it tune... but again, youre the same guy that asked how to install control arms, what do YOU know...
Edit: as for the whole "spent 35k for 400whp." Youre so closed minded that even after i explained it to you that my car is an all around car and not just a whp monster, you still think i spent 35k to get 400whp... i mean ask any member here, theyll tell you, to boost a 350z the PROPER way, the averagecost will exceed 20k EASILY.

forgive turdoed350z, he got his entire build done at the ferrari dealership.......
a clutch doesnt cost 1k brain dead child for 400 whp 360ish torque....
can buy a used jwt clutch for 250-400 bucks.....lol.....i saw a member awhile back selling a pretty mint jwt clutch for 200 bucks can hold 550 hp.

Thats 3.3k clutch right there...
Any half knowledgeable builder knows, if youre aiming for 600whp, your clutch should be rated for about 700. But again, what do you know... you had to make a post asking help to install control arms...

You dont realize that the "rated" hp is all bs and any smart builder knows, to avoid breaking parts and wasting money, you go for a HIGHER rated part than what you actually plan for...
Any smart builder knows that they do research before doing anything and you dont need aftermarket everything to have a powerful car some factory parts are build like a tank while others are build like you.... but anyway thanks for the advice
Ok dude thank you again for your opinion i understand some guys on the forum dislike you i am going to remain neutral towards you as long as you keep your beef and opinions on people out of my posts, As im trying to "fill my cup with knowledge.... Not ****" which is all i've gotten from you. so i will take it that you saw a new guy join the forums and you decided to have fun. Theres no problem with that unless that person is serious and since my question was a serious one im going to ask that you shoo now and post somewhere else. thanks again
I have given you legit advice. Unless you can drive the car to 80% of its potential. You shouldnt mod it. The g35 and 350z werent meant as a stright line car.
I advice you to focus on suspension as you will NOT get decent power with 3k unless youre doing a cheap hack job....
A nitrous kit alone will be more than 3k after you get it tuned in and running. Hate me all you want, but my advice have been 100% truthful. Just not what you wanted to hear, and thats not my problem
Stock clutch is weak... but you know.. you have no experience while i do. Argue all you want, youre not going to get much with 3k...
As i said i just want to know what i should invest in so that in the end result is that i have a quality boosted 350z average around 375-450whp and call it a day

Focus on your suspension first, you WILL need it when you boost.
Secondly a GOOD used turbo kit is arounf 5k for a COMPLETE kit. That, and another 1k for clutch (500 if you want to cheap out) then you need tuning, guages, and various other crap (dont want to gonin full detail sonce that will be long winded and you should be doing your own research.)
When its all said and done, you will be around 10k in POWER mods alone. Then youll need good tires to lay the power down, thats another 500-1k+
And if you want to upgrade your rear end, your oil cooling system, interior and such, thats more money.
So again, my advice have been 100% useful, just not what you wanted to hear.
Sorry to crush your hopes and dreams, but youre not getting 400whp with 3k... thats barely enough for basic bolt ons.
Shouldve bought a civic...
Edit: good luck, youll need it if all you got is 3k with a goal of 400whp...

Btw if you could read i clearly stated in an earlier reply to your comment ik the 3k will get me nowhere i just want to know were to start
I will continue to post as i like since my post are on topic and will help future modders.
The cheapest option is to stick NA, but as most NA built will tell you, thats a waste of money.
Rarely will you see above 300whp, unless you have an hr engine. Even then, youre talking 5k+ on an NA built to see a measly 30whp gain. Not worth it.

listen i honestly read your anwser and many others besides yourself commented and your the only person whos anwser had nothing to do with the topic after your third post
