Default New 2003 350Z owner from Raleigh NC

Hey whats going on everybody. I'm a community college student who just recently purchased a Z with 131,xxx miles on it for about $5k. It seems to be in pretty decent condition, I even got a pre-purchase inspection on it, so I think I got a good deal. I'm pretty new to the Z and car enthusiast scene in general. I came from an 03 eclipse gts so I'm still getting to know the car. I lack car knowledge (still trying to master standard transmission lol) so I'm eager to learn as much as I can and enjoy this beauty. So please feel free to help teach/guide me in any way. I guess some questions are:

1.Was it a good deal/decision? I'm a little concerned about it being high mileage and how costly it will be to maintain it. I've always loved and wanted this car for years, I finally went for it. I got it as my college car.

2.Driving tips? I can drive stick, I just don't think its the prettiest lol. I want to learn the right shift points for slow/normal/fast acceleration etc. Then I'd like to move on to learning how to downshift/rev-match, then after that maybe learn heal-toe etc.

Sorry for the long post, I'm just new and pretty stoked about it. Thanks in advance everyone.

Once you drive it for a few weeks you wont even be thinking about shifting and it will all be a non issue. Like anything else practice makes perfect.

If you think you got a good deal then you got a good deal, dont worry about it at this point because the seller isn't going to give you any refunds... Honestly $5000 is cheap for anything you can drive in... I wouldn't worry about the miles all that much... All cars need maintenance, the Z is a lot cheaper to maintain then others in their performance catigory...

Good luck, hope the college ladies love it.

P.S. this is the ghost town 370z section of the forum.
