Hi Ellie, great pic (from 1 ZR owner to another).
No such trim level, they are: Base, Touring, Grand Touring and Track. You may want to look above in "Tools>VIN Decoder" to see what you've got.

TBH, "R" is more a designation for suspension or exhaust products (aka "Race/Track" oriented). Nice Camel seats btw!

As jhc said, no such “Type R” in the Z line (Honda does) but..... there are “R-Tune” parts from Nissan Motorsports division, including badges in case you are looking at one on the car.

There was a complete “S-Tune version” sold in Japan but no R-Tune version (I’m aware of) sold as a complete vehicle.... just Zs with R-Tune components.

Default Email from Nissan

This is why I'm asking, when I emailed Nissan this is part of their reply, it states Trim level R Touring. So, trying to figure out what that really means since its first time I've seen that reference and can't find a clear explanation.

Thank you, I'm having more fun with this car than I did my BMW Z3! Pic was from long, fun drive yesterday. I am loving the vented seats, the leather needs some love, great shape but didn't fade well with age, I'm researching options on what I can do for them.

Maybe the 'R' stands for roadster?

That's a good looking black ZR. I wish I had those seats in my '05. Your best bet would be to have them reupholstered in some fresh leather.

I use this on my leather seats, this is absolutely the best leather-care I've found! Apply and let it soak in overnight. Very oily to apply, but it might prevent further damage. (You'll need an old towel to rub off excess and sit on). GL!

i think it is safe to say that the "R" stands for race car ( for those that live their lives a quarter mile at a time ) just a little humor.

welcome to the forum Ellie, you got yourself a very nice looking Z.
