Hello everyone I am a new owner of a 2006 350z with 143,000 on it. Car is solid except for this harsh thump and rattling, it’s hard to describe but it’s coming from the front of the car. The brake rotors are warped but I only ever feel it at high speeds. I checked the wheels for play and there is none. Steering and suspension are all tight as well. I removed the plastic belly plate that was pretty tore up and that did take some of the noise away but its still there. Any ideas is to what it could be? I was thinking mounts for the suspension? Or is just the remaining wheel well plastic? Any thing helps. Thank you.

 

Check the front crossmember. Mine rusted and became weak, and caused noise similar to what you describe.

After driving it it a bit more I’m wrong about the rattling noise. It’s creaking and it happens while steering and as the suspension is working and while braking at low speeds.
