Default Thinking about maybe purchasing a 350z

I am getting into cars and I like the 350z I’m not a huge fan of manuals mainly because it’s going to be a daily drive car. I was wondering if there are other cars to consider that would be like the 350z that are somewhat cheap. I found a 2006 350z for $10,000. With 80,000 miles. It is an automatic. Is this a good price?

Thanks and sorry for the dumb questions.

Welcome and your question about car values depend heavily on where you live. Try going to sites like edmunds or kbb.com to look up car pricing in your part of NC. A manual 350Z as a DD can be perfectly suitable. Have you driven manual transmissions on a regular basis before? Remember that a 350Z is a powerful, RWD sportscar and requires skilled experience and judgement to drive well.

As for other cars to consider, of course there are many. Even within the Nissan marque, you can choose from late model Maximas, Altimas, Sentras and Versas as a DD. It all depends on what YOU value in your driving experience.

AT 350z is not that bad at all.
I say go for it, but take your time to check the car before buying it!
Hope to see you soon in my350z family!

It is hard to find a 350z under 100,000 miles in stock condition, paint ok, interior complete, and everything complete under the hood and all shields under car still in place under$10,000.

Tons of them for $6-7 k being modded up, interior parts missing, check engine light on, plastic covers, clips and not complete under the hood, stuff like battery hold down missing, washer bottle missing, battery cover or master cylinder cover missing, under car shields missing, cracked windshield, hatch issues, headlights yellow and dull, 1 cooling fan working, trans shifts rough, clutch pedal soft, etc.
I looked at 25 or more that people claim it is $7000 and great shape. Drove and looked at one and it needed tons of work unless you were building a race car. I want a car I could make a 800 mile trip stay in stop and go traffic for 30 minutes with no over heating issues.

I can't understand why these cars get taken apart and never put back correctly. It is like a crazy law if you pull parts of the interior out for any reason people will not put it back leave it out. I looked at one was missing all trim pieces in the hatch area up to the seats. I ask what happened guy said I was installing stereo and never put it back in. We left immediately after being told that crap.

Many look good in pics but in person they look like junk. How do they replace the radio and do not have the factory radio.

Well that is an old guy looking at cars owned by younger guys who don't have the same patience or care that you do. These days I'll go buy a 50 pack of plastic clips to replace all the broken ones but in my youth I'd just space them out to get by. Priorities change a lot as we age, and these cars are definitely targets for the younger generation. The other part is that these plastic parts are cheap and easy to put back yourself, but again as we get older the less we want to do.

I was raised to do it right or not do it at all. I do know 2 young guys in their 20s 1 has a 350 1 has a 370. They have done some work but have come to my of thinking of getting everything back to stock as for as what I listed. I have helped them with door handles, shimming the door stops to work right, got the hatch on the 350 working like new with new struts, hatch springs, adjusting the latch assembly for them. We have done car shows together the kids 370 get the most looks but ours always gets more offers to buy.

I think a lot of it is being lazy by this younger age group. I can promise if you see a 350z lowered it will be missing some part of the interior or parts under the hood will be missing . The kid with the 350 had a flat but guess what no spare tire or any jack or jack tools to change tire. Cost $175.00 to have it towed 20 miles. I ask where is the spare and jack parts came in your car? He answered it did not come a spare or jack or jack tools. I said why don't you buy these parts he said never thought he would get a flat. I give these young guys hell about this type stuff.

Good luck with your purchase. I just got mine and it had like 35,000 more miles than the one you are looking at. I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction but I originally wanted to get another Miata, but I am very happy getting the Z. The miata is a little better on gas and can use cheaper gas.
