Buying a 350z
Hey All, I currently drive a 2018 wrx (automatic). I love sports cars and there is nothing I love more than a fairlady Z and Skyline (hopefully in the near future). I'm close to settling a deal on 2004 350 Z (manual) with a private seller. It has 28k miles, garage kept in mint condition. The car has no accident history and has been serviced once at nissan but other servicing at a local garage. What should I be looking for when going to see the car? I made some notes of common issues found with these Z's which I will bring to the sellers attention and hopefully he can budge on the price. This will be my first time getting a used car without any one accompanying so I need advise and tips. 2004 models reliable? Should the spark plugs, throttle body and fuel injectors should be serviced at 28k miles?
From what I see, it needs new set of tires and brakes\rotors\pads\fluid will need to be flushed.
Common issues (Miscellaneous)
1) Panels easily get scratched. cheap paint, it doesn't hold up.
2) window regulators and door handles
3) lift gate springs
4) trunk struts
5) dip stick get bent. DE's burn thru oil. 1qt every two to three weeks

I don't think DE's burn oil......it's the RevUps that CAN.
Is he asking an insane amount? Sounds like a rare find with that low mileage. Tough time to be in the market to buy.
2004 is a good year but many like the HR version 07-08.
Good luck!

Good to know that DE's don't have the oil leak issues. He put the car up for way more, taking full advantage of the car shortage ect . But I told him my price will be based of kelly blue book. In addition it needs new sets of tires and brake/rotors/fluid need to be serviced. Do you think it's a low blow if I was to quote him 1.5 to 2k below what kbb shows? tires/brake servicing will roughly cost close to 2k

Can someone help me out in determining which trim level for a 2004 Z? (JN1AZ34D04M103784) Vin decoder shows it's an enthusiast. Guy claims it's a track lol. But the Z has no Brembo brakes, or rear wheel spoilers. It does have a front spoiler and a mesh grill though.
