Hey Guys, I’m Connor and I’ve picked up this 2004 350z with 150k miles. It has no A/C to start and the Paint is terrible, peeling on hood, rear quarter panel is spray can white along with side skirts and wing. Haven’t had time to really dig into it but I’ll be sure to post my progress on this thread. so far I’ve found these issues throughout..

Absolutely no A/C (clutch doesn’t engage, haven’t had it diagnosed yet.)
rear tires balled replaced with Khumo ecstas
Front strut brace held on by 1 bolt and 1 nut😑
(Bolt holes needed new hardware and needed to be tapped)
passenger door handle not working
bumper mounting points missing and rattling
Lowered(coils or springs not sure yet)
Common window issues
headlights completely oxidized
paint is awful
Undershroud is missing
Wheel well plastics missing

there’s a bunch more just haven’t found yet. I’ve ordered a fresh oil change with Castrol edge and a mobile 1 filter(killer deal online) Denso iridium plugs (IKH16)
Exhaust completely fixed with new gaskets and a 6“ Patch on the midpipe to Nismo Muffler
Z1 undershroud ordered and on the way.
headlight resto kit ordered.

First arrived at home. Had a massive exhaust leak in the Y pipe and muffler was cut off from previous owner. Has unknown test pipes.

Picked up an S-Tune nismo muffler and an OE y pipe to fill the void.


Removed aftermarket bumper to prep for paint eventually.


Replaced with OE bumper for now.

 

That poor thing, welcome to the forum, hopefully you can bring that car to it's former glory!

Good luck with the S-Tune muffler. Won't attach to stock mid-pipe without a fab'd pipe (or the S-Tune mid pipe).

And yes, that wing thing..... ugh....

Otherwise, looks like a decent starting point.

Im loving no wing and I plan to use the wing again for something in the future, I like having the option available.

Really digging it w/o the Wing

Wing removed, bonded to the hatch with misc hardware 🥲 need to gather more appearance chemicals, what are your favorite detail/cleaning products?

OEM+ mods? Depends on what you're going for.

Performance: suspension, tires/wheels. Just my preference anyways.

Aesthetics: if you're keeping the OE wheels, consider some 20 and 25mm wheel spacers. Affords a wider track and, IMO, a better look with the wheels more flush to the fenders. Personally (as mentioned by a few of us), the wing loss is a big improvement. My main problem with it was it was so out of balance with the rest of the car.

Other: Sound system. I like my exhaust while running up the hills and such but tunes for the ride home.
