**Help Needed: Navigation System Issue in 2005 Nissan 350Z**
Hi everyone,
I知 having a problem with the navigation system in my 2005 Nissan 350Z Grand Touring 35th Anniversary Edition. The issue is related to the motorized door that normally opens and closes the navigation screen. Since I知 missing this door, the system doesn稚 power on automatically as it should.
Here痴 what happens: When the wire harness connected to the motorized door is unplugged, the navigation system turns on. However, when I reconnect the harness (even without the motor), the navigation unit won稚 power up. The harness seems to control both the motor and some sensors related to the door.
I知 looking for advice on how to resolve this. Specifically, I知 wondering:
1. **How can I bypass the motorized door mechanism so the navigation system thinks the door is always open?**
2. **Are there any common fixes for this kind of issue?**
3. **Where can I find the wiring diagram for this system?**
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Yes I did, I found a wiring diagram, but can稚 seem to locate exactly what the harness does. I found a bunch of information but nothing that specifically applies to my situation. I just can稚 seem to figure out why plugging that one wire harness in shuts of the navigation.

Since I've never owned a nav-equipped Z (and suspect there weren't many produced), this may be difficult to answer. Nissan engineered the nav system in similar fashion to how the retractable roof on the ZR works. In both cases, a specific sequence of operations must occur before the end result. is allowed That's one reason why there are so many ZR roof problem threads on this and all Z boards. I suspect that there are no easy solutions; including making the system work without the dash door opening.
Have you tried paying a Nissan tech in your area who can accurately diagnose this issue? I realize this likely isn't the solution you are seeking, but it may be the combination of experience, tools and skills you'll need to get your nav system to operate again.

That痴 reasonable, mine doesn稚 even have a door the previous owner ripped it out, the navigation is currently working due to my unplugging the wire harness that looks like it follows to the motor that opens and closes the door. Might just leave that wire harness unplugged because everything else works fine in the car unplugged, only difference is when it痴 plugged in the navigation doesn稚 work
