So just trying to figure this leak out. Basically the only fluid that seems to be losing volume is my power steering. This is probably weird or pointless but I compared the liquid in the puddle to my oil, brake fluid and coolant. Doesn't have the same feel, look, or smell, didn't taste it though, to my brake fluid or oil. I'm trying to nail it down what to check before I go spelunking under the hood.
If it's leaking from the driver's side, the most obvious item to check is the dipstick. Make sure it's fully seated in the tube. Also make sure the rubber seal/gasket on the dipstick is intact, as these age those rubber seals can crumble and break off. You will get oil spitting out of the dipstick tube with engine running otherwise!
Next items on the list to check would be radiator + hoses, brake fluid reservoir & lines, and finally clutch fluid reservoir & lines. The A/C compressor is another item worth a look, but I think highly unlikely.
Cheers!

It's a 6MT. I was hoping to figure this out the easy way. I just hate to have take things apart just to find out nothing WAS with it until I took it off.
Found what appears to be the area its coming from basically couldn't find anything leaking from above or beside so had to get under and check. It's dry on top of it so nothings dripping on it.
So its most likely power steering fluid.

Reason: Adding info
If the inner tie-rod boot isn't cracked already, wipe it off, take a needle and poke a hole through it (I usually go between the ribs). If you can get a stream of fluid to squeeze out, then your rack seal(s) are shot, proving it is indeed PS fluid leaking. I've just never seen one that severe before. Also, Nissan uses ATF (red in color) fluid for the PS system. This is not proof of course, but that fluid color, although dirty, doesn't even show a hint of red color.
Cheers!

My dad had this vehicle just a few months before I got out of the halfway house and he used Lucas oil brand power steering fluid which is mostly clear but with a slight redish brown tint. So even though it's not red it may still be power steering fluid
