because I don't see any reason to don't do it. I like the car, I like the stiffer chassis, I don't like we didn't get the 3.8 liter nismo engine with 350hp...
I don't understand why not. suspensions are going to wear regardless...
imho this car has a lot more potential (his body) than a regular Z.

same reason why I'll put a real differential instead of the VLSD next week...
because to me this one is a better starting point than a regular Z

no offence, but I'm not purist... she's not a Ferrari 430 Scuderia or a Porsche Gt-2/Gt-3 RS... I love the car (I got two in one year and one half.. and believe me, I was so pissed for the oil consumpion on my '06 that was enough to stay away from Nissan... than I tryed the Nismo and got it.. 3 hours.. she was mine... like when you find a rough diamond.. now she need a detailing job to shine properly)

I agree with all of the above. And I'm a huge Nismo fanboy. Formerly I had an '05 UY Enthusiast with the S-Tune package. The car is by far superior to a standard 350z. It's even superior to an S-Tune. But if you think that a non-adjustable suspension on a sports car that costs less than 40k is as good as it's going to get, you're probably fairly naive. But even if I'm wrong, and it is the absolute alpha and omega of z33 suspensions, not all of us are going to track our NISMOs, so it probably doesn't really matter if it handles 10/10's or 9/10's.

I had S tune package also on my 06... sways and shock springs.. awesome setup, this nismo is even better for spirited driving on windy roads.. and for what I feel a damn good starting point for somebody who wants to go for track days with a forgiving but good performer car.
I'll give few hundreds miles to settle the suspension, but, is still a street car, they cannot sell a car with an aggressive camber, a 100% locking diff and well performing but unforgiving suspensions here and don't expect to be sued from somebody who will total his car... just seeing that they put Re050A tires instead of RE-01R they use in japan is a statement.

btw, that is what I think... I still prefer to trust a stopwatch on the track than advertisement... so I'll see. :-)

I agree with Ataru and pacfwu on the subject, but then again, I'm not sure I would want to lower it just to lower it.

Pacfwu, do you track your car? If it was me, I'd want to experience the car in stock form before attempting to upgrade it.

Nah, I don't track my car. I may take it there someday, but the track is quite a ways from me.

I just got it done a couple hours ago. Sorry for the crappy pics, but it's night, it's raining and my camera isn't really that good. I'll snap some more tomorrow when it's day time.

Thanks. I'll post up some better pics tonight. The car is dirty as hell, but I might have just enough time to get it washed before the sun goes away.

I'm bumping another Nismo suspension thread to the top.

So the Nismo Z does not have VDC.....but can someone with VDC install the Nismo suspension? Can they just drive with the VDC off all the time? I do that anyways.

if you just swap the springs then you might ruin the handling of the nismo. the shocks valving are tuned for that particular spring rate. if you want to elevate the handling then go with a true coilover. but pls don't get the cheapo ones coz more then likely cheapo coilover shocks doesn't work with whatever spring it comes with.

and rear increased 50% for enhanced control and minimal body roll.
The stock Nismo setup still has a significant amount of body roll. The stock nismo setup is still a compromise for street use. Canyon driving is sufficient. For track junkies there is still room to improve on the suspension department. given the nismo extra stiff chassis it is a good starting point for some better suspension hardware.

+1. An 1 inch drop on the nismo is the most I will do.

Andy, do you know what the spring rates are for the Nismo Z?
The springs are progressive rate. I read in an Japanese car magazine they said the stock nismo max spring rate is 8k front and 6k rear.
