I like your porsche???
yeah i actually got pulled over and the cop thought it was a porsche. he asked if it was my car when he pulled me over. luckily he knew my parents and let me off. he didnt tell me he thought it was a porsche though, he told my parents that. hah..
they have some similar features in their shapes, i guess thats what throws people off that dont know cars. meh.. this is pretty common

I got the Porsche comment last night too. Thought it was kind of funny.
The side profile of a regular Z has a porsche-esque look to it, but that's about it. If anything, a regular Z has more of a porsche look to it than the NISMO.

I don't think they look alike, but I have the
knowledge of Z's and Porsche's that others do not.
I can see someone who does not know anything,
or really care about cars not be able to distinguish
the two.

I love the porche but i think its a question of "Form following function". If the 911 was front engine it would share a lot more of its shape ( hood bulge). Porsche look very different without rear wing.
I've gotten three comments in regard to my Porsche Z. :\
A woman commented me while I was driving the other day, she pulled up beside me and told me "That is a beautiful Porsche." I proceeded to inform her, "Thanks, but I just spilled milkshake all over it," as I had just spilled a chocolate milkshake all over my center console and was flipping out.
Moral of the story is that the Z doesn't have any cupholders, no matter what Nissan may SAY.

When I first got this car, I thought you guys were all full of shiet with these "Porsche" stories... but then it happened to me:
First time:
I parked in a faculty lot at a nearby University once...assigned parking but I need to drop off a paper. I parked between a 996 Twin-turbo, a regular 996 Cabrio and across the way was an older 993 NA. Old faculty lady walks by and says:
"You have the best looking Porsche in this lot."
Um...no
Second time:
I wanted a gentlemen's parking spot in a swanky part of town, but noticed his car wouldn't start. I asked him if he had jumper cables and he said "yes" so I pull up to his side.
The guy wires up his engine then reaches out for my trunk telling me to pull up more. I'm thinking *Where the hell are you going?*
"Engine is up here sir, there is nothing back there"
Him *looking kinda confused*:
"Since when did they move the motor.......wait..this is not a Porsche??"
