Default Went to run the 1/4 but rained out, but weighed the NISMO.

Well I went folks....but the weather turned to crap 15 min after I got to the track and started to rain. They weren't even ready to start us down the strip yet. So now I have a rain check to go back. Man this sucks!

Anyways, I was at least able to weigh the car till I can go next time....here is two pictures of the car at the track scale.

If you can't read it, it says 3325. This is with half a tank of gas, jumper cables, slr camera, umbrella, coat, and helmet in the car still. lol. The NISMO is somewhat heavy.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah, that is pretty heavy. I guess there could be some variance in the scales, but some '07 owners were getting in the low 3100s. Shoot, at that 3300+, might as well have thrown in NAV. Well not really, but hey.

The NISMO parts don't add that much weight, do they?

Well that was more of a rhetorical question.

A quick search shows that a few 2007 stock touring models have weighed in at 3240lbs. That's 85lbs less than what SOLO weighed in at.

85lbs doesn't seem that bad. On top of the touring, the NISMO adds brembos, bigger wheels and tires, NISMO aero parts, welding, structural supports, yahama dampers, NISMO muffler, NISMO suspension, numbered badge ......

I could see these parts adding up to 85lbs, but then again, the touring model has leather heated power seats, bose, VDC and I believe NAV as well.

After taken everything into account, I don't quite see how the NISMO is 85 lbs heavier. The biggest difference would come from the brembos, wheels and tires and aero parts. The wheels are forged, but the rears are wider and end up being heavier. Wider tires also add a decent amount of weight. In the end, I think those AERO parts must be pretty heavy.
