Well, got through 100 posts and decided to defend...not this kid...but other teens. I'm 19, I'm not the best driver, I'm also not the worst (that goes to my ex-girlfriend) Anyway, 19 and $40K+ car FTL. Even if he could afford it, he shouldn't. I did have a similar thing happen though in my last car. Corner at about 30 in a 35 bald almost back tires (just getting into cars really so hadn't really checked them recently) back end came round bang FWD btw. Anyway, it does happen....kids do make mistakes, it's how people learn. I just feel bad that a Nismo had to suffer because of it. When I got my G I felt as though I had graduated in a way...sebring was like high school...like to show off think your cool and what not...then you graduate...grow up realize how things really are and attitudes change. This kid is still in high school in his mind.

BMW driver confirmed story, whats the bet he saw BMW said I'm better and tried to show off and lost it.

He may have been going 20 but add the speed of the SUV and that is the impact force. him 20 suv....40 lets say...like hitting a brick wall at 60....seems like god amount of damage.

Not to crack on your ummmm, calculation.......but I think what we really want is Newton's Second Law. With this it can be calculated (as long as the mass remains "relatively" the same) the Impulse of Force.

So even though the OP's speed and that of the Jeep/SUV or whatever is relevant, the equation is a bit more complicated than your "60" statement.
