Wow......you figured us out! The Hating on Teens (who own a 350Z or Nismo) Envy Society! Aren't you brilliant!?

First off, our parents were smart to NOT allow us to own high performance cars. Do you honestly think the 19 year old who had TWO accidents is making (salary wise) as much as I do or, for that matter, a lot of the older guys in this forum? Ummm, NO!

Sure he is 19, but how does one go about affording the insurance on this type of car AT that age let alone his car payments? Now who do you think is going to take the BRUNT of this with regards to premiums?

Instead of backing up the teen, maybe you should explore the consequences of his foibles! Or are you in love with teenagers?

You are so right. But a lot of mistakes come from a lack of experience. I believe that's one of the main drivers behind people ******* on teens with a high performance car. Give a baby a sharp knife, he's almost guaranteed to cut himself.

Sure everyone makes mistakes. But a teen is far more likely to make a "mistake" in a 300+Hp sports car rather than a POS 100 hp beater. Plus the mistake in the beater doesn't affect me.

Now I understand these questions were not posed to me, however, I am 23 and just bought a 2005 Enthusiast....I graduated first (hopefully you guys somewhat think i did it the right way)

1. I drove a dodge intrepid
2. I THOUGHT I was the best driver in the world and thought anyone who got into an accident was a total retard UNTIL 2 days after my parents bought me that previously metioned dodge intrepid when I f***ed up and rear ended someone.
3. Now at 23, I KNOW I was a horrible driver at 16-20!(and no I didn't wake up on my 20th bday say im the best driver in the world) I did everything wrong in a car someone could. Again now I'm 23 and don't consider myself a bad driver, BUT I KNOW I'm not a good driver.

IMO....It all comes from experience. By no means do I want to protect this kid from what he deserves, but hopefully he will learn from these mistakes(didnt look too promising with 2 accidents in the last month). If he posts again for his next accident then I do kind of hope its his obituary post and not posting to say that he killed someone else(but then again what will he care the insurance company is still gonna fix "his" Nismo).

Good Luck Kid becasue YOU need to sit down and look in the mirror(because none of us were there) and if you can't look youself in the eye and admit you f***ed up then your life is only gonna get harder.

That's all I have to say about that...

1st accident about a month ago
At stoplight going streight back end swings out, i manage to get it out of traffics way and i hit the sidewalk destroying both the rimm's and the control arm. Cause as far as i can figure hydroplaned since i was going 20 in the 40mph zone.

2nd accudent today at 10:45 am
Came out of a roundabout and going 30 in the 45mph zone streight line again, next thing you know my car is in parts and im getting out to make sure the person in the SUV is fine, they have only a scratch on their nose. Cause again as far as i figure slipped on the oil spot after fresh rain.

Is this just my luck? Do the factory tires really suck that much? And why dont i ever feel the TCS kick inn when this happens?

opned for discussion and critisizm... i feel ashamed for being put in a situation to ruin a limited edition car so plz not too much *******.
OMG... give up and buy a ****** Toyota Yaris... YOU SUCK at driving as previously mentioned in your first thread about needing a tire and the first responder in this thread jump in your dude's Lotus while you're at it and wreck it

It's possible he could of worked for the car at 19. I'm 21 and just bought a brand new 08 350z and have no problem affording it. Still don't change the fact this kid is an idiot... 20 mph wrecks are hardcore.

This happened twice … when it shouldn’t have? No flaming here. 19, is this your first manual tranny car? Were you downshifting when this happened? If you were downshifting and using your engine to slow down, you need to rev match i.e. match the engine rpm to the rpm of the tranny by tapping the gas pedal (more harder the higher the speed in the lower gear dropped down to), before you let the clutch out in the lower gear. If you don’t, when you let the clutch out, you will feel a jerk like you slammed on the brake. You may even lose control of the car, especially on wet pavement, through a curve. Don’t count on TCS to save you if you do this. If you rev match right, you will not jerk the car.

Do a search on google video for advanced manual shifting techniques or downshift rev matching. Watch the videos and practice. Get good at it and you will really appreciate the Nismo and how well it handles. At the very least you will extend the life of your clutch. It is too late for your Nismo (what number is it?) but next time, it may save your next car, it may save your life, it may save an innocent life, it'll keep Z owner insurance premiums from rising faster than inflation ...

Indiana had heavy rains Sat. Was there standing water on the street?
Maybe you hit the accelerator too hard in standing water or your tires have no tread on them. Or maybe the combination of both.

Either way, sorry about the NISMO. Gland to hear no one was injured. You can always get another NISMO.
