Default Quick Winter Tire Question

When putting winter tires on your car, have you bought a different set of rims with winter tires on them? Then just change take of lug nuts, take off summer tire and put on winter tire?

Or do you put winter tires on the stock Nismo rims?

What is the best way to go? and what am I looking at price wise?

If you do get seperate rims with the tires what have you gotten?

Thanks

Get some cheap *** OEM 18's and put snow tires on them!!!..
Do not put winter tires on your OEM Nismo bro they'll get ruined with the Salt and ice .... I decided to keep my OEM 18 just for this specifc reason

Use the same lug nuts for oem wheels what i did anyways..

Buy something cheap(er) for the winter months. I have a 2001 Integra that I drive in the winter. which is fun in its own right. During the winter, when the sun is out, there's no snow on the ground and the forecast is clear, I do drive my Nismo, though. I bought this car to drive, not to leave it sitting in my garage.

Yup I agree with you. Buy a car to drive it. Thats not a bad idea with the a beater, but I'm kinda broke since buying the Nismo. My family has caught the RWD bug, so I can't even steal one of their cars for the day. This winters gonna be a bit@ch. There is definitly something to be said about a care free car though. Its so nice not worrying about drifting around a turn in the snow and hitting a snow bank, or leaving in a parking spot within 1 mile of where you are going and not having to worry about it

p.s. nice pic on the mountian road thread. It's now my wallpaper

I actually love the stock wheels on the Nismo. The gunmetal really looks good with the grey skirts and aero kit. I really haven't seen a set that I think looks that much better, that is worth spending the money on. They only ones I would consider if anything happened to my wheels would be the Time Attacks Taco Mardre has on his. Keeping the black and red matching the black Z.

Plus I would probably go with wheels and tires, but even then...

1) Wheels plus tires = $$

2) I'm now relativly poor since buying this car (but damn am I happy )

If I just got wheels...

3) I don't trust my dealership to accurately weigh and balance the tires every 6 - 9 months. (My dad had a bad experience with a Mercedies just swaping the tires and thing rattled like a tin can)

4) If I just change the tires I have a bad feeling my dealer will scratch my wheels in the process

5) Taking the train will humble me .... and I might even pick up some Spanish (yay for the orange line...)
