Default How far i should go on bargaining the price??

Im planning on get the 350z nismo Z by the middle of November, I am currently driving a G35 coupe. The dealership i went to offered me $38000 out of the door for 08 brand new nismo Z with 6.49% APR. I think this is a pretty good deal, however the color wasn't the one i was looking for, so I ended up leaving.

What kind of deal I should be expecting in such a bad economy time?? I was thinking getting out of the door with the invoice price which is 36.6k. But I kinda think its a little too hard.

Anyone can help me with negociate a good deal? Thanks so much!

Well if i were to buy one id wait a bit and get one used unless i came accross a great deal on the lot. But if i were to buy new id try for 35k or under or less otd. Youd be surprised what you can get when a deal wants to seel. I remember seeing posts on here before where some of the local dealers of some of our member on here had nismos on the the lot for 5k or more off sticker so its possible to get a great deal right now.

Invoice. Be ready to buy if they agree to it.

One of our local dealers had/has a 2007 sitting on the lot for over a year. Last I heard he had lowered the price to $29,000.

honestly... with a brand new model coming out in one month... or you get a hell of a deal of you walk away and wait... at least wait for LA auto show... look at the spec of the new 370 and take your decision.

Out-the-door price is impossible to decipher. Offer $32,586.

Can someone explain this so called out the door pricing.

There has been some confusion over this and I would like to settle it once and for all.

My assumption would be

-you cut a check = X

That check covers

-Car price est... ($35,200)
-options (floor mats, 3M tape $700+)
-fees (destination $600)
-registration ($50)
-taxes ($1,700)
-and all the other bs the dealers try to throw in there

Total = $38,250

-so roughly $3,050 in other expenses

My out the door price would be $38,250.... Correct?

So for these people that say they got the car out the door for $35,000 this would mean you acutally bought the car for about $32,000. Is this correct?

Out the door means drive out price.
What you paid total (tax,title,license,fees)
Say they sold you the car for 32K, you add up
tt&l, fees...that's your price.

Wink

Yes, Out the door (OTD), is what you paid or will pay after all the extras, taxes, tags, warranty, or anything esle you negotiated into the deal is done. You buy a Z for say 28k after TTL plus anything else comes out to 32k, your OTD price is then 32k. Simple. Also like others have said with the new 370 coming out soon there should be a hell of a lot of deals avaiable out there for remaining Z's regardles of model.

Ok, I went to another dealer in my local area (2 miles from my house). I decided to get a white nismo Z, but they don't have it, so they will have to transfer one from other dealership. They quoted me $37077 car price, so OTD will be around 40k.

WOW is he trying to rip my house off?? He actually let me walked out pretty quickly ~_~. I was asking for 36k OTD, seemed like he was not even thinking about it, so I left right after. LAWL its really annoying to negociate a deal .

Any tips on this?? cause i don't wanan drive 1 hour just to pick u p the car, I would like to just pick it up in the nearest dealership possible. Does it effect the price if i have them transfer a car from other dealership??

Tips please, thanks!

Go in with a check or a credit card and say your willing to buy it right now

They move pretty fast when you do that.

They basicly want to know they have a serious buyer

That is too much for NISMO at this time but it your money. Determine an exact price you are willing to pay and go in offer that price. Tell them you will buy it right now at your price. There is no shipping charge if both dealers are in town. If they have to swap with a dealer in another state you will have to pay the shipping.

No. And that's the problem with out-the-door comparisons. Taxes and fees are different.

a. Always negotiate the price of the car.
b. Make sure add-on fees are reasonable.

Doesn't sound like you are negotiating. Sounds like you are asking about pricing, and the dealer is high balling. Try this:

“I will give you $blank for this car today.”
