Default Getting frustrated with my dealer!!!

Got a question for you guys. I noticed a scratch on my NISMO while in the showroom. I told them about it and they said they can buff it out with no problems. So I bought the car, paid a little high at $39,167 but I like the NISMO and they threw in a remote start system and a car cover. Took the car back for them to have the remote start installed and to fix the scratch. Picked it up last night and today in the light I realize they didn't fix the scratch at all. If they are unable to fix it what can I do? Shouldn't they have to have it fixed even if it comes down to replacing the nose piece?

Just clearcoat I think. Doesn't seem to be into the paint. If you slide your fingernail across it you can definitly feel a ridge. They tried buffing it out with no success.

Sorry about that. Doubt that they will replace anything with a verbal agreement.

Go straight to the owner of the dealership.
Bypass all other employees.
Contact the owner, and it will get fixed.

I'll be spinning circles with it in their lot if they shaft me that's for sure!!! It's not like I drove away and then noticed the scratch. It's the first thing I saw and they said they'd take care of it.
Either way I'm gonna let them know I'll bring it by this weekend to be fixed. I was just wondering if any of you had dealings like this and what I had to look forward to.

when you bought the car you should have had them put it in the we owe slip, (ie) wash, fill the gas tank up kinda of stuff. thats what i had to do when i bought my 08, bc when the car was on the lot something had dripped onto the hood and embedded itself into the paint.
but sorry to hear it
they should take care of it

I think u should have done some research first, theres many posts talkng about what people paid for the car and u got bent over with no lube. Second of all how smart are to put that much money up and not get anything in writing, to be honest i dont feel bad for you at all.

I wasn't asking for sympathy, I was asking for advice. Which NISMO do you own?

Sorry to hear about your Nismo. Is it that noticeable? Even if it's not, I know it's besides the point...but it could've been worse. At most, I would still confront them about it and see where that takes you. Although, with nothing written (assuming), hard to get anywhere. Don't worry too much about it...enjoy the car!

Off topic...I thought remote starts are generally discouraged amongst mt vehicles?

Congrats on your Nismo though!!

You'd think the moderators on this site were at least...moderate.

Stick your chin back up and remember, don't ever post a dollar amount for ANYTHING on the web. Car, work salary, dental work, hookers (because you should never hire less than three at a time). Everyone instantly knows a better deal the very moment you post.

As human's we all forget things that are not part of our daily routine. Assume the dealership just forgot. Bring it up that way to them too. The salesman gave you his card, right? Call him and mention it. Probably the easiest post sale complaint ever made and corrected! Relax, buffing out a scratch is easy and they won't deny you that courtesy.

You DID jack up the front and check for the shipping spacers, right???

Yea, thanks Chuck, lesson learned. My original point was that because I paid high I don't believe I should have to give anymore to fix a scratch, purely outta principle. I think some people on here don't realize that not every area is affected as hard by this economy, at least some are better off than others. I'm sure there are "killer-deals" out there because of this but fact was I left for Home Depot one morning and spontaneously came home with a NISMO. That's the type of person I am, might not be the best way to be but that's what happened. I'm sure I coulda walked away and shopped around but I wanted the NISMO sitting there and bought it. I'm sure there're deals to be had on the 350z also but I wanted the special addition. Not too keen on the look of the 370 so that wasn't an option.
Either way here, I shoulda never posted at all because I already know I'm going to hold the dealer to fixing the scratch. One way or another it will get done. I guess I was just looking for a show of support and looked in the wrong place. By reading through these posts I can see that most paid closer to what I did and you all didn't drive away with one for under 28K. It's a great car and almost as fun to ride as a sportbike.
