Just bought Nismo z but I feel like dealer tricked me on pricing
Im not even happy that i got it because I worked my butt off trying to make a deal and they told me 29 +TTL and i agreed and signed papers and they said payments will be mid 500s and i said thats fine and they said oh we cant give you the same 0% apr or 5k discount but well give you mid 500 payments still. now keep in mind this is my first time buying my own car with my own credit so I was happy and it worked out and i took the car home. When i got home i looked at the paperwork. It turned out i got the car for 39k out the door. car was 34k before TTL. they made my payments 590 X 72 months. I feel stupid because it was technically my fault for rushing and signing the papers. I feel i paid way too much and im not happy at all i havent even driven the z its sitting at a storage garage i have in another town so its away from me at home. im trying to return the car i drove it straight to storage and they havent processed my paperwork yet. they are gonna let me know tomorrow if i can return it. what do you guys think about my situation? thanks in advance
anyway here are the pics at least something good. its # 1200 something. i didnt care to look im too depressed i put myself in 34k debt. (i put 5 down cash)

a postive note but soo small it doesnt even make me smile yet is the fact that the dealer installed nismo intakes on the car. its not supposed to come with them correct?

Going car shopping to find a set monthly payment is FTL!!!!! You need to go into the dealership with a mindset of what you want, a price range and how long you would like to finance. That kind of information will dictate your monthly payment.
You let them hose you good with the "well get your payments in the mid 500 range". All they did was extend you contract term and are making you pay more in interest.
Theyll get back to you to see if you can return it is BS...do you think theyre going to say yes out of the kindness of the hearts? NO, they will only follow the law at best and wont let you return it if they dont have to. In SC i believe you have 3 days to bring the car back.

That sucks. Sorry to hear brother. I hope you get everything resolved.
I hate dealerships. Always gotta take everything they say with a grain of salt and fine comb the paperwork.

jesus christ what an expensive lesson to learn. don't sign anything before you read it. don't shop for a monthly payment, shop for a good total deal on the car.
people that fall for this kind of **** kind of deserve it in a way. that being said, I still hope you are able to return it, but don't go offering them money to take it back.

Exactly what you said! car buyers shouldn't be going to the dealership and negotiating with the salespeople what monthly payments they are willing to pay. instead, figure out what you want to pay for a car (or whatever item it may be), and work the finances from there. don't even mention about your trade-in, until you make a deal with the car of your choice. after you agree on the price, then mention your trade-in, work-out the monthly payments, interest rates, etc. part of doing your homework should be going shopping for a loan at different banks trying to get the best rates, and visiting other dealerships and working on the price of the car. they always ask what you're willing to pay, or your budget on a car every month - don't get sucked in to that and tell them you really just want to talk about the purchase price. unless they're giving you better interest rates with the same term, you already have a deal with your bank for a loan. all of these play a role when you deal with salespeople.
as far as returning the nismo, I wish you luck. if it doesn't workout, just enjoy the car. eventually you'll forget about the price you paid for it and will have a great time driving it. I sure do with mine.
Damn his story sounds familiar
, but then again i knew how much everything was going to cost me. I have no sympathy for the OP, he should of known what he was getting himself into BEFORE signing anything.

how much did you pay if you dont mind me asking. what hurts the most is how i even printed out sheets from the forums stating members have gotten their nismo for under 30k out the door. my goal was to get it for 29 out the door i paid 10 grand more than my goal was. i feel so dumb. the nismo 370 is coming out next month they are soo happy they robbed me.

Usually before you take it home, you're supposed to go over the contract before you sign the dotted line... I take it you didn't... A very expensive lesson learned.
Lessons learned from first car buying experience (A dodge neon back in highschool
).
1. Get financing from credit union @ 5.9%
2. Set a spending limit
3. Find the right Z (05 Daytona Blue Touring w/frost interior)
4. Run a carFax or have a mechanic inspect the car.
5. Haggle the price as much as possible.
6. Don't agree to anything that the dealer wants to offer you. Bastards wanted to charge me $500 for stop-gap insurance when my credit union would charge me $250.
7. Walkout of dealership with a smile on your face and the keys to your new Z.

Just remember if you bought an 07 or 08 a year or two ago you were probably paying MSRP (or maybe more) without the 0 percent financing--you've done much better than a lot of guys on this forum. It's a great car, don't sweat the small stuff--2K over 72 months is only about $30 per month.
^ You don't know what you're talking about. 2007s are trading at $22-25k, 2008s $25-30k otd.
OMG. I need to offer my car buying services as a consultant. You got ****ed. I could have helped prevent this. What a shame.

Kids/first time car buyers ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS take an experienced friend, father, or uncle along when buying a car or enlisting in the military.
ALWAYS.
I'm nearing 50-years old and have bought a couple of dozen cars - four for myself - and the rest with the younger sailors that worked for me. I helped a few buy houses too!
You're playing on their field and you're taking on professionals who make their living getting you to pay as much for a car (or enlist) as possible. The odds are already stacked against you and they you go in as a complete - or nearly complete - rookie. Having a seasoned pro on your team, by your side, doesn't hurt nor mean that you're not a big boy either.

Including the extended warranty which was like $1200 from Nissan and $83 (a year) from my insurance company.
