Hey all this is not meant to be a flamed thread. Have u ever wondered how one may be able to obtain the red engine cover seen on the 380rs? I find that it looks amazing, and feel it would compliment my red nismo very well. Any ideas where I can find one? If not...is it possible to CAREFULLY paint the stock engine cover? If possible, what type of paint would one use to allow the paint to look similar to the rs? And last a long time, if possible? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I had been thinking about it for awhile, and I have come to really like it. Thanks!

hmm interesting. I saw your pics. Looks nice. How did u paint inside the emblems? Hand painted? Also, if I didnt want to make the cover glossy, is there any way I can make the red have the same look as the silver metal look that is standard now?

exactly what I want to do!!! I was readin his thread. He used base paint? Like car paint? or Normal red spray paint, preferably high temp? And a flattened clear coat? Can that be found at a hardware store easily? Thanks so much for that link!

richplayer, I honestly think the red engine cover would look fantastic in any color of the nismo because there is only 4 colors, and each color contrasts or complements red very well. Go ahead and do it! I used high temp header paint because the trick of the matter is to use something thats flat first for the base coat..then used clear over it. It gives it that stock look that the base silver used to have. Thanks on the comments, took me awhile to get it done looking this good!
